@christopherrufo He broke the law. He covered up a burglary. Even Barry Goldwater was going to vote to remove him from office. He was not taken down in a deep state coup.

This nails it. The Right's rediscovery of Richard Nixon is not about particular policies—some good, some bad—but about the aesthetic, the attitude, and the narrative of the self-made man who won 49 states on behalf of the Silent Majority, and was taken down in a Deep State coup.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

The kids are “Nixonmaxxing.” More than half a century after Watergate, conservative youth are discovering the aesthetic, and adopting the attitude, of the late Richard Nixon. on.wsj.com/4wdu6CY

@morrisonMSK It always scares me when a label says, "Made with REAL peanut butter." I mean, shouldn't "Made with peanut butter" be obvious and sufficient?

No one has ever bought these and yet they are ubiquitous in research labs and medical centers. How many grants and discoveries have been fueled by these dry ass treats, supplied by the Gods to inspire creation.

@foundmyfitness It’s beginning to be too much, this daily inundation of do this but not that health science. Yesterday I saw someone say not to take daily multivitamins. Today’s it’s bananas. Tomorrow it’s oxygen.

I don't add bananas to my smoothies. Why? Not because bananas are bad (I love bananas). They contain polyphenol oxidase, an enzyme that can break down polyphenols. And studies suggest that when you add banana to a blueberry smoothie, you may absorb fewer of the beneficial polyphenols from the berries! So instead, I use avocado. It gives the smoothie the same creamy texture with the bonus of monounsaturated fat in avocado, which can increase absorption of carotenoids like lutein and zeaxanthin from kale - nutrients important for eye and brain health. I talked about this recently on my appearance on The Mel Robbins Podcast.

This is peak food reductionism and it’s so boring Reducing blueberries to “just” polyphenols completely misses the fact that they are also a decent source of fibre and other nutrients like Vitamin K Not to mention that being so absolutist about a small-scale study that was done on less than 10 people is typical of the current culture of wellness overoptimisation If your overall nutrition is in a good place, making this change will do close to nothing for your health And if your overall nutrition isn’t in a good place, you’ve got MUCH bigger things to worry about than this.

@JohnHMcWhorter The notorious RBG famously litigated against a law that gave women the ability to buy beer for less money than men. She argued that any time a law gives a benefit to women, there's a sexist assumption that underlies that law.

A lot of people out there think it's just inappropriate to make Black kids take a standardized test. Quite a few who think that are Black, and some even say it out straight. One of them is quite famous and wears dreadlocks. 1. They're wrong. 2. Do these people realize they sound just like the crowd who shout to the heavens that Black people are the world's dimmest (ON AVERAGE, blah blah - yes, but still)? nytimes.com/2026/07/16/opi…

Most liberals aren't radicals and just believe trans folk deserve to live their lives in peace. But activists insist you must never even imply that a trans man is a woman, so the Chancellor must hedge and say the "vast majority of pregnancies are in women." And to non-liberals, that can't help but sound odd. My experience in private conversations is that many liberals think it's odd as well, but others blame it all on "Republican cynicism" and argue it shouldn't even be an issue. Perhaps it shouldn't, but it is. And Republicans will keep on bringing it up in hearings as long as they think it'll get them votes.
Jenn Pellegrino 🇺🇸@JennPellegrino

I can't believe this is real. The Chancellor of UC San Francisco testified under oath that a "vast majority of pregnancies are in women." Implying some pregnancies occur in men. When asked directly whether a non-biological woman has ever had a baby, he refused to answer. This is the head of one of the top medical schools in the country.

@drantbradley I prefer the Mediterranean diet. Do I follow it 100% no but I find it much easier and healthier than a keto diet. My problem is that I like butter and cooking with tallow to much so substitute that in where I sometimes should be using olive oil in the cooking process.

@DeanTTraining Let us not conflate health with vanity. Anyone who looks like is more likely to be alert and with his friends on his 100th birthday. Let us not complicate the simple. We should all have better things to do than track every data point of our bodies.

I'm thinking of starting a nonprofit called More Than Words that matches land acknowledgers with Native Americans families. If you acknowledge that you're on stolen land, my organization will match you with a specific family whose land you or your ancestors stole. You would then transfer "your" property to the rightful owner, with More Than Words covering all associated legal and administrative fees.

There’s a big debate about whether everyone should train fasted, and especially whether the answer is different for men and women. My view is pretty simple: start with how you feel. If you feel terrible exercising fasted, that matters. Listening to your body is important. There are absolutely times when I need to eat before a workout. The other big variable is the type and duration of the workout. A 30-minute run or lift is very different from a 2-hour run or lift. If you’re doing a long session, you might need fuel. From my recent appearance on DOAC with @StevenBartlett.
