North Lanarkshire Council spent £122,000 on a half marathon with just 782 runners. Entry fees brought in £26'000, meaning taxpayers covered £96,000. That’s roughly £155 per participant, most of it on road closures, signage, and admin. At a time when basic services are being cut. Why are they wasting our money?

KNIFEMAN TRIED TO STORM NURSERY – PARENTS LOCK KIDS IN CARS! A blood-soaked knifeman armed with two blades attempted to force his way into a nursery in Calder, west Edinburgh yesterday morning. Frightened parents desperately locked their young children in nearby cars while heroic locals confronted and chased the attacker away. He had already stabbed two people during a frenzied attack moments earlier. After barricading himself for seven hours in a tower block, the suspect has finally been arrested. This was seconds away from turning into a horrifying nursery massacre of toddlers. Thank God for those brave locals who stopped him! Well done Scotland!!

@TheSecretAcct 25p after 10.000 miles. Horrendous, you have to swallow the fact it costs you to travel for work. I do 20,000 business miles per year. Taxed at 60% with no personal allowance. It’s soul destroying and few people understand as they just see the gross income figure with envy.
