It's not as hard as you think: Build now Wait for results later (6+ months from now) Target niches with low competition but high popularity (getting harder but is still possible) You need to boost visibility in early few days/weeks to feed the App Store algorithm (IMPORTANT!) (You gotta go viral, do marketing, whatever it takes to get downloads from external sources to App Store. Put aside time for marketing and if you have a budget SPEND IT on first few weeks) Quality of app matters now Quality of your developer account matters now Build in viral loops. "Send to a friend", "Recommend a friend" Focus on your onboarding + paywall. Use what works and then re-iterate from there. My personal opinion: Don't build just for ASO these days. Build for other marketing factors with a solid optimisation built in. Net result is that ASO will increase as your other marketing channels increase.
