@redpepper1011 @TalkTV I cannot believe that its got worse over the last 20 or so years. I truly thought it was bad then. But with all the money and so called insight etc its got worse! Mind you, from your experiences I think your area has to rank as one of the worst in the country

@TalkTV a few years ago parents can’t get proper diagnoses for their children without going through schools, local authorities, and the NHS—and even then, it can take years. My own children are only just now being diagnosed with ASD/ADHD after a very long struggle. One of mine was only diagnosed at 18, and another may finally be diagnosed soon age 14 Throughout all of this, I’ve had no real support, and neither have my children. Instead, I’ve often felt blamed by social services rather than helped. I do believe children need boundaries, but I’ve been criticised by services for trying to put those in place. It puts parents in an impossible position. Now I have a younger child, age 8, and we’re starting the neurodivergent (ND) pathway. I don’t want to go through the same years of stress and uncertainty again…I’ve raised concerns early and completed the forms with the school. In the past, if schools didn’t see the same behaviours as at home, it could stop a diagnosis altogether. I’ve recently been told that children might now be diagnosed without being seen in the same way as before. While I know the process is usually long, I’m unsure how I feel about my child potentially being diagnosed without a full specialist assessment. At the same time, I do think many children with SEN need clear boundaries. But as a parent, it feels like if you enforce them, you risk being accused of doing something wrong. It often feels like decent parents just can’t win… my kids have also told me there friends go around saying they can claim money if they behave like they do but generally they go down the mental health route

NEW: Police airlift a crocodile with the body of a 59-year-old businessman inside. Local police in South Africa say they suspected the crocodile ate the man after observing it from drones. They then shot it and airlifted it off. When they landed back on the ground, the crocodile was sliced open, and human remains were found. The remains are believed to be those of 59-year-old Gabriel Batista, who had previously been swept away in raging floodwaters. His ring was found inside the animal along with six other pairs of shoes, which authorities fear may belong to other victims. On Monday, Batista reportedly tried to drive over a flooded bridge to reach his hotel and bar, but he and his truck were swept into the water. He was then swept down the river, where crocodiles were waiting for prey. It is unclear if Batista was already deceased when he was eaten, but authorities believe some of his other remains may have been eaten by other crocodiles.
