@HonByamukama Thank you for the great job. Such road contract works should be done at night (10pm to 5am) and/ or weekends to minimize disruption of traffic flow.

Last week, I directed the contractor to complete the maintenance works on the Namungoona–Bwaise section of the Kampala Northern Bypass by today. Monday 13th July to ease the persistent traffic congestion. I'm pleased that the asphalt laying has now been completed as directed, and the section will reopen to traffic this morning. Road marking will follow in the coming days with minimal disruption. Thank you to all motorists and the public for your patience and cooperation as we worked to restore smoother and safer movement on this critical corridor.

Only shortsighted citizens and selfish leaders can oppose the field audit operation by Ministers @BalaamBarugahar and @JustineNameere. However, the operation is sanctioned under the directive of H.E @KagutaMuseveni at swearing in on May 12, 2026. It is, therefore, unstoppable!! FK

@zintaraco @BalaamBarugahar @BalaamBarugahar, some of these are ideas that you can take up. Districts can declare available positions, the responsible commission at national level advertises, and recruitment is done centrally by PSC, ESC or HSC. DSC can remain to undertake reward and sanction functions.

@BalaamBarugahar ALL LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN UGANDA HAVE SAME PROBLEMS, use one recruitment system thats automated, where a candidate can select his district of choice for employment but during application, there is one centralized system to handle. Reduce human interaction with job appointment.

I commend the people of Kayunga for courageously exposing corruption in the District Service Commission. It is estimated that fake jobs worth approximately UGX 840 million were sold through the Commission Secretary. For the past two weeks, many members of the public have been calling and providing valuable information. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit for taking swift action. Several individuals have already recorded statements as investigations continue. We must work together to clean up our local government offices at every level. Public jobs are a trust, not a commodity for sale. Corruption has no place in public service, and anyone found responsible should be held accountable in accordance with the law. Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi Minister of Local Government

@rwomchechen Let the Ministers break the corruption chains then order is restored in the civil service. Anyone who is against corruption should support the acts of the two Ministers of Local Government.

The danger in the activism of these raw ministers is the destabilisation of the civil service and service delivery. Civil servants will fear to take decisions. Indecision is more costly than decisions in error.

@JustineNameere @BalaamBarugahar @Parliament_Ug During every term, there is always a M7 minister who starts work like this. But just a short period into their tenure, they abandon the approach! Either they start like this out of excitement or their powers are trimmed later by those who really hold it!

Tewali budde! No time for nonsense! We demand service delivery. Period. 4 districts completed. 142 to go. We will reach every corner of this country. To those serving our people diligently: we will support you to serve even better. To those stealing public funds: take note. We are not polite and will deal with you decisively. End of story.

@BalaamBarugahar @WaserekaS The headcount should be done by the CAO or City Clerk who reports to the MoLG directly. Please, hold them accountable.

During my inspection , I visited Naiku Primary School in Mbale District, where I uncovered serious irregularities. Government is releasing funds based on an enrollment of 1,352 pupils, yet during my visit, I personally conducted a physical headcount and found only 705 pupils present. This discrepancy suggests that Government could be losing approximately UGX 14,098,648 through fraudulent enrollment figures in just one primary school per term . If this is happening at Naiku Primary School, how much more public money could be lost across government schools in Mbale District? Where is the District Education Officer (DEO), the School Inspectors, the District Human Resource Office, and the local leadership? Every responsible office must carry out its mandate to protect public resources and ensure accountability. The fight against corruption is a collective responsibility. Every shilling lost to corruption is a shilling taken away from our children’s education and our communities’ development. We must expose the corrupt, recover public funds, and restore integrity in local government. #KisanjaEndCorruption #ExposeTheCorrupt

@SpireJim You are totally right. If a father justifies the action of his son, what else can the rest of the village members do? Absolutely, nothing.

In my village, Butozi. Has it ever happened to you? You go to report a misbehaving child to the parents (Chairman), so that they discipline him. The father stays in the bedroom, doesn’t come out. The following day he comes to your home and says: “I heard you have issues with my child, that he beats people on the village. Actually you should thank him, for he hasn’t killed them. He is disciplining them properly”. Do you go back to report to him? Do you wonder again where the child’s guts come from? Things on my village! Things fall apart, the center can no longer hold

I started working at the age of 18 years as a radio presenter waking up at 5:00am. worked so hard in the years. At 41years I don't have to wake up early the 500 people I employe in my group of companies do the work, all I do is read reports. This is called strategic planning!

Corruption’s carriage has hit a pothole. IGG widens the probe into Parliament’s inner circle, arrests fly &the State signals,no collar is too high.Under govt’s renewed clampdown, the public mood shifts from cynicism to cautious applause. The road to prison is now signposted. #UG
