We called it. Today, Trump confirmed his “presidential library” - the one @MDCollege handed over for $10 - will be a luxury hotel. The most valuable land our students ever owned. Gone. For $10. Soon to be a high-rise for a corrupt president. Our local state lawmakers who said nothing, did nothing, should be ashamed.

The Pentagon is denying a report by The Financial Times that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s stockbroker was seeking to make large investments in major defense companies in the days before the U.S. and Israel struck Iran. That report is raising more concerns about the people in and around the Trump administration who seem to be profiting in unusual ways. @ElizLanders reports.

How Trumpism works... Step 1: Say the most unhinged thing you can. Lie big, lie loud, and see what you can get away with. Step 2: If the base cheers, repeat it until it becomes a slogan. If everyone else recoils, fall back on “snowflakes,” “just joking,” or, most likely, just tell another lie and then another lie. Step 3: Flood the zone. Keep the lies coming so fast that truth never has time to catch up. That is how extremism becomes normal. Step 4: Get your followers to defend the indefensible. Once they are insisting up is down and black is white, you do not have a political movement. You have obedience.

Yeah, y'all did a GREAT JOB last time you were in charge. Highest inflation since Carter. Highest gas prices EVER. Twenty percent increase in home prices, together with the highest mortgage rates since 2001 made home ownership impossible. A decrease in real wages. A border invasion that allowed over ten million illegals into the country. Go fuck yourself.

Raskin: The whole “America First” thing is such a fraud because, in fact, Trump and the MAGA elite spend all of their time with rich people from other countries—either wealthy dictators, people like Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orbán, the leaders of the authoritarian states they emulate, or businessmen—or some combination of both. They’re not interested in “America First.” That was just a completely predatory slogan they used to get votes. But they’ve been selling out the country day in and day out.

Imagine if instead of spending $1.3 million/minute on war in Iran, we spent this on people. With 3 days of war, we could eliminate the worst form of global hunger, saving 1.5m kids' lives. With less than 3 weeks worth, we could offer national pre-K or college for all Americans.
