Leaving Jigjiga after three days, having attended the inaugural conference of the #JigjigaForum-a Horn Dialogue on Regional integration. I would like to congratulate the organizers of the forum on a job well done. That you brought together- in such a short notice-an impressive list of participants is nothing short of a miracle. The thematic areas you picked for discussion will remain as, if not more relevant for years to come. You couldn’t have chosen a better venue for such a dialogue. Jigjiga and the Regional government superbly played the host. That Jigjiga has been transformed beyond recognition is all too obvious- especially to those of us who haven’t come anywhere close in well over 12 years. I can’t wait to return before the second edition of the #JigjigaForum, if not earlier.
