@nothappyfunball @mattyglesias Gas prices are about to hit $6-7 bucks before the end of the month. Trump's done. Any medium to lower income Trump supporter is going to be paying at the pump and the inflation that comes with it IE: groceries. There's no point in voting for Republicans in 2026.

Big problem for Collins is that not only are Trump’s numbers bad right now, but Maine has shifted left since her last election.

@Zarya03631822 @obamaatredrobin It's pretty obvious bots are just running most of the trading softwares nowadays. Trump drops random headlines about peace or ceasefire and everything will drop for the day.

@NotMeUsOnline1 @Hershel_Lives It's a global trade resource and having oil reserves requires nationalized oil stockpiles? That sounds like communism. The US releasing their oil reserve stockpile did absolutely nothing btw, people in Iowa are paying $8-9 dollars a gallon in California which is 2.11CDN a liter.

How do you think Canadians will react when we run out of oil in 2-3 weeks on the eastern seaboard Quebec and Atlantic provinces?

@CatSplotchy @DJBranham Coalitions changed. Democrats have white college voters and Republicans have Trump only voters who've rejected everyone who isn't down with what Trump says since 2018.

@DevinIsHD @Vbajor10 But Seth only did that spot because the buckle bomb was a signature move. He did it to the barricade instead of a turnbuckle. I'm pretty sure I've only seen Seth bring that out once or twice since like 2020.

The -133,000 revision is the number everyone will focus on. The March report that came out alongside it tells a bigger story about where this economy actually is. 178,000 jobs added. Looks like a rebound. But 35,000 of those were physicians returning from a strike. 396,000 people left the labor force entirely, dropping participation to 61.9%, lowest since November 2021. The unemployment rate fell to 4.3% because the denominator shrank, not because the economy improved. Average February and March together: 22,500 jobs per month. The economy needs ~150,000/month just to absorb new workers entering the labor force. We're running at 15% of replacement rate. Wage growth fell to 3.5% year over year, lowest since May 2021. Federal payrolls down another 18,000, now 355,000 cumulative losses since October 2024. Long-term unemployed up 322,000 over the year. The 2025 jobs numbers already got revised down to 181,000 total for the entire year. That's 14% of 2024's gains. The economy didn't slow down in February and bounce back in March. It's been decelerating for 15 months straight, and the monthly noise is masking it. Every recession starts with a jobs report that looks fine until you read the revisions six months later.
The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter

BREAKING: US job growth in February has been revised down from an initially reported -92,000 jobs to a total loss of -133,000 jobs. This marks the biggest monthly US job loss since December 2020.

@secretagenting @avidseries @JamesSurowiecki They said "regime change has happened" as recently as this week. And no, he was very clear that was the initial objective, they were hoping some sort of civil war would breakout after the Ayotollah's death. Goalpost moving at it's finest.

@avidseries @JamesSurowiecki You are defining this in YOUR strategic outcomes (ones that “matter” to you), not ones the USA has been saying. They don’t say regime change. They say no nukes, plus degraded military and weapons abilities.

@Freespeech212 @secretagenting @avidseries @JamesSurowiecki The people of Iowa love paying $1.50 more for gas one month after war with Iran that did nothing other than kill the Ayatollah and install his son. When gas prices spike to 5.00 a gallon, oh man. Why even vote Republican come November?

@MattShel1989 @souljagoyteller No, he was really popular in Quebec. He did the work for years getting that 2011 result and he ate the Bloc's support in that result. He wasn't ever going to be PM, but he was going to keep the Liberals from getting a majority in 2015.

If Jack Layton hadn’t died in 2011, how much would Canada’s 2010s history have been changed? Was he destined to become PM? Layton’s death feels like one of those great history-altering moments that scars a generation’s dreams
