I had a heart attack yesterday evening. Great paramedics got to me early and helped encourage me to go to hospital for some more thorough tests. I was still feeling stupid for even having called them at that point. Then yeah, while in the A&E just waiting for a basic blood test, it was suddenly lights out. I woke up to find a number of doctors and nurses around me, with very shocked faces, as zombie boy here; apparently came back from the dead with a loud gasp of breath, before they even got the defib paddles near me. A short helicopter ride to a specialist facility, then fast procedure - boom! I'm in recovery already. Apparently, my heart is in great shape, but one little minor artery got blocked and triggered a chain reaction / short circuit. The consultant said that a few seconds longer, and had I not snapped myself out of it before they started defibrillation - could have been game over. Likely be home in a few days if nothing else pops up, and judging by the scans and speaking with the team that fixed me, looks like I'll be good to go soon. What a fucking start to 2026 😅 I'm just glad to be alive 👊
