Leaders fear schools will be tempted to exclude pupils who are less likely to hit top grades so they can score highly in Ofsted’s new 'achievement' evaluation area

@grahamchatterl2 And yet here he is again popping up like the unflushable that he is. 🤔

@AdamHighcliffe @bphillipsonMP Absolutely agree. Absolute madness to have him anywhere near anything to do with education reform.

@bphillipsonMP I'm intrigued to find out how Tom Bennett is going to "drive change", given that he's been flogging the same ideas for the last 10 years, and they helped deliver this:

Working together with schools and families we're focused on getting children at their desks in safe, calm classrooms.
I'd like to congratulate Attendance and Behaviour Ambassadors, Tom Bennett & Jayne Lowe. They'll be working with our Attendance & Behaviour Hubs to drive change.

The DfE has appointed @tombennett71 and @jloweatBGL as its new behaviour and attendance ambassadors tes.com/magazine/news/…

@Keir_Starmer So they've got Tom Bennett as the advocate for more behaviour hub shenanigans which is the reason we're 33% increase in exclusions in the first place!🫣 zero tolerance doesn't work.🫣

@didiJamer @milton_damian Ching! Hahaha! I don’t need to check to know I’ll like you.

@JuliaCa20602661 @milton_damian I'm blocked too

@AdamHighcliffe Let's be honest TB chooses what if wants to believe, support depending on the day. His bright ideas set exclusions up 33% and he refuses to have any reasonable conversation face to face or online. (Believe me i tried and he banned me)🫣

@AdamHighcliffe It's like raaaaain on your wedding day. . . Its Birbalsingh talking about brains. . . (Make sure you sing it😉)

@AgainstAtheismX @rickygervais As @rickygervais said you deny millions of Gods in the name of one, we just deny one more.
So is your stance also evil? 🤔
Ross-on-Wye, England 🇬🇧 English

@rickygervais It's not a misconception.
And any self professed Christian that is proud and boasting of their foul language has some serious self-reflection to do about whether that behaviour reflects Christ's.
It is precisely Atheism's stance as "absence" that lends itself to evil.

@sianmariecurtis @talesofpiper @chridisreandra @Emma_Turner75 My extensive experience and research unfortunately says otherwise. Schools are not creating safe spaces in a majority of cases.
English

@S_Oberle @Emma_Turner75 I’ve also noticed more parents introducing their little kids to me using my first name. My dad was in the Army and rank and title were big deals. I still call my mom’s 80 year old best friend “Mrs” and her husband “Colonel.” I just can’t imagine calling her “Fran.”
English

@RumeliGirl @S_Oberle @Emma_Turner75 Afraid there's quite a bit of research that shows that creating gaps between us will just form a different kind of refusal to do tasks, usually with far more negative behaviours. Building relationships with students who are our peers works if done correctly.
Ross-on-Wye, England 🇬🇧 English

@S_Oberle @Emma_Turner75 It’s because the kids see the adults as peers. School should promote more social distance between students and teachers & require teachers to dress more professionally.
English

@AdamHighcliffe @AnnaFazack1 Just as there is critique for being restorative schools by many zero tolerance leaders, so must we look at zero tolerance and the evolution of abuse within it. I'm glad this is highlighted in the papers, it is far from the only one like it.

Mossbourne academies scandal: the latest from @AnnaFazack1.
While an investigation continues into the federation's Hackney schools, the spotlight falls on its 3 Essex academies.
Mossbourne Essex parents & teachers have now come forward to reveal a culture of fear (cont)...

English

@AdamHighcliffe Once again TB showing how little he knows of brain development. 😔
Ross-on-Wye, England 🇬🇧 English

RP is not a behaviour management tool. If you're going to do restorative, do it properly or don't do it at all. It harms its integrity. Claims there's no consequences, then I would say that's not restorative approaches! That's something else.

@PookyH @SpeakingofBks Oh what a brilliant thing to be talking about. And needs to be heard!
Ross-on-Wye, England 🇬🇧 English

I LOVE it when I get a great brief... I'm really looking forward to writing this keynote for a conference in Essex.
If anyone else fancies something similar be in touch with Ellie @SpeakingofBks - I think it will be a great session (that sounds horribly imodest.. sorry)
