This is actually a pretty realistic portrayal of an average day in private equity The 2 AM days are by far outliers if you are being efficient But also working late past 10-11 pm consistently and eating both meals at your desk is very real

Think for a moment about the level of industrial engineering going on at a place like this, and if we collectively have the skill to do it again.
Talk to an engineer at a flooring plant, or window plant and then ask them what would happen if you 10x their SKUs by putting them all together.
All by paper too, no ERPs.

Wild that Sears and Roebuck had a warehouse the size of a small European country and you could basically put a letter in the mail and a few weeks later your house showed up in pieces at your nearest railyard

HVAC in the Mountain West having an absolute AWFUL start to the year with these springtime temps
From my local SMB SEO guy (very plugged into community):
- One HVAC co made $75K profit in January last year, lost -$15K this year
- LSA leads running $110 a pop
- Vast majority of the industry got used to clicking buttons and running ads, and nobody seriously invested into non-digital demand gen channels like outbound calling. "When the tide goes out, you see who's swimming naked."
Not a fun time.

Those new to following me.
i have been involved in the trades my entire life.
my late grandfather had a refrigeration and HVAC business.
my father later started his own refrigeration and hvac business and I became a minority owner in 2006.
started operating that company in 2005 doing $350k in annual revenue.
we operated in a small bedroom community.
We eventually did HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and generators. HVAC and generator were our main revenue drivers.
I worked almost every position in the company from helper to CEO.
I became the majority owner in 2019.
sold in 2022.
i was a member of nexstar and service nation alliance.
i tried almost everything and made every mistake possible.
i post about best practices, experiences, failures, and wins.

Well.. I'm supposed to be onboarding with @ServiceTitan tomorrow and nobody was reaching out to schedule the work.
Find out my implementation "manager" was out or something like that, and when I called him he acted like I was some random guy calling his cell phone - "Hello"
So I called him on it.. and guess what.. his phone is forwarded to his cell phone. He has no idea who I am, then proceeds to tell me the date I have is incorrect (its not.. I have the emails to prove it)
I don't expect much from them after its all turned on.. but I at least need some help getting it all turned on.
This is not a great start...

@shawngorham My dad used to get mad at me and threaten to make me join the army. Then he said if I kept screwing around I would only ever be a plumber.
Later, after college, I joined the army then ultimately bought a plumbing co.
That'll show my old man!
