@xoMommyDearest @avidseries Sure, but I'm not sure why you are shifting goalposts and changing the topic here. We were talking about unqualified appointments, not elected officials.

When you consider who Trump chose for his cabinet (e.g, crackpot RFK Jr, inept pooch-snuffing Border Barbie, towering human dumpster inferno Hegseth, 3rd-tier legal mind Bondi) and who he wanted but couldn't get (like the serial sex pest and alleged trafficker Matt Gaetz), and how hundreds of people took to my replies to defend the selection of every single one of these absurdities, it's almost impossible to not entertain the thesis of a MAGA low human capital problem.

@xoMommyDearest @avidseries Why are you just pretending you don't understand the difference between supporting a friend with issues and putting that unqualified friend in charge of a government agency? This ignorance act is getting really old.

The ad hominem attacks are supposed to do what, here? I thought the anti-MAGA embraced diversity, embraced depravity. The party of abortion is gasping over a farm dog? It doesn't add up. I love this account and your factual knowledge. Ad hominem logical fallacies aren't debate. They are insults disguised as debate. What is the point of your insults here? Sure, RFK has personal demons. Lots of them. But that doesn't make him worthless. Lots of my friends have demons, I still love them and they have other values.

Trump released his new budget today, and as a member of the Appropriations Committee, let me tell you what it actually says. $1.5 trillion for the Pentagon, cuts to disaster response, cuts to education, cuts to clean energy, cuts to programs that help Americans pay their heating bills, and cuts to health research. Trump himself said that Medicaid, Medicare, and child care should no longer be the federal government’s responsibility. This is the largest proposed year-over-year increase in military spending since the Korean War, financed on the backs of working families, for a war this president has never justified to Congress or the American people. Oh, and it would add TRILLIONS to the national debt. This budget is an admission of who this Administration has decided doesn't matter. I will fight every single day to make sure this never becomes law. nytimes.com/2026/04/03/us/…

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

@greendragonhq @ItsJuliansRum But that isn’t to say voting the blue would’ve been better. People wanted the senile puppet president out of office and needed another party to trust, but we didn’t know how good we had it. doesn’t really matter though since both sides are run by israel

@moonstar24689 @greendragonhq @ItsJuliansRum It blows my mind that people are being serious when they say Harris was an incoherent speaker. Biden had issues. Trump is a half dead furby. You may disagree with her policies, but her speaking was anything but incoherent. Shit take.

@greendragonhq @ItsJuliansRum I’ve never voted for trump (didn’t vote at all last time, I’m in CA tho), but tbh I don’t hold this last one against these people when the alternative was Biden, then harris. Agree or disagree, neither of them were fit to hold office with the way they spoke - both incoherent.

@GregIMilner Probably 100% or near it. The goal is to have a militia that can rival a military and keep a runaway government in check. That's my interpretation anyway. Reality is of course that we don't want billionaire civilians owning ICBMs

I'm a centrist, so I don't know the answer to this. Do Democrats actually want "birthright citizenship" as the actual policy? Or do they simply oppose Trump acting like a dictator toward his racist goals?

@robertgraham @Fat_Electrician But that also implies payment based on an accurate assessment of performance, which is too subjective of a concept. Left unchecked, employers tend to do whatever they can to save money, which includes underpayment of employees.

@Fat_Electrician If pay should be based upon performance and nothing else, then you wouldn't have a minimum wage, that demands payment above their performance.

I fucking hate the “minimum wage is for high schoolers” talking point. A. No it isn’t, that’s historically inaccurate. B. Telling a kid to work hard and earn money the “right” way, then turning around and saying he deserves less just because of his age is bullshit. Pay should be based on performance. Nothing else. If you’re against raising the minimum wage, that’s fine. Make a better argument that isn’t belittling kids trying to work hard and earn something for themselves.

And while I disagree with his position, I recognize it’s an acceptable view to have in a democracy. If Josh wanted to see that change it’d be via constitutional amendment - which won’t happen because this isn’t a substantive majority opinion. And that’s how our democratic constitutional republic works. It prevents executive or courts, and even simple majority from changing fundamental rights based on the opinion of a minority or the weather of the day. And that is critical. You may not consider it critical on this particular case - but it is the fact that sometimes you find the process inconvenient, that makes it valuable when it protects YOUR rights.
Joshua J. Prince@JoshuaJPrince

FWIW I fall into the seemingly small camp that thinks that birthright citizenship is probably required by the text of the 14A while also being a horrible policy if it extends to the children of illegal immigrants or people on vacation.

@ihaveanOgo @30Kraus @MarxistMarky @seeweesaw @dawsoncrvz @01Camron I can’t, nobody can. To “prove” the existence of a God is to eliminate “faith.” Faith is belief without definitive proof. But, I can ask you 3 questions. Was Jesus death public? Was he a well known figure of his time? Did they ever find his body?

No we actually live in a world where so-called Christians use the Bible to have clear hate/distain for others. The funniest part is you guys say you don’t want gay people pushing their lives on you but you guys have no problem pushing your Christian identity on everybody, isn’t that ironic?
Riley Gaines@Riley_Gaines_

We live in a world that hates Christ and those who believe in Him, but that's to be expected. Just as He was persecuted, so will we be. Consider me a Jaden Ivey fan.
