@lisanandy Maybe focus on the big ticket items like energy and defence instead of who hosts a snooker tournament.

@ZackPolanski Are you saying the independent group observing samples of the voting was lying about what they saw?

The morning after Hannah won I was asked time and time again about this. There was no evidence for it. Instead the establishment media fuelled the fire. It was Islamaphobic. And it's because those in power are scared of us ending rip off Britain.
Sam Coates Sky@SamCoatesSky

Greater Manchester Police say they have no evidence of family voting after an extensive investigation, including speaking to Democracy Volunteers and seizing CCTV: We’ve concluded our investigation into alleged ‘family voting’ at last month’s Gorton and Denton by-election, finding no evidence of any intent to influence or refrain any person from voting. Our investigation into alleged influencing of voters at a polling booth (under Section 62C Representation of the People Act 1983 (Ballot Secrecy Act 2023)) began after a criminal report from the Reform UK party following a public statement made by independent electoral observers at Democracy Volunteers. We have spoken to the four Democracy Volunteers observers present at polling stations on the day of the by-election (26 February) who have shared with us their eyewitness account. This includes some instances of more than one voter going into a booth at the same time, and instances of people looking over the shoulder of voters. The information they have provided to us estimates this may have happened on 32 occasions across 15 polling stations. The observers do not allege any verbal instruction or physical conduct that indicated one person was directing or coercing another regarding how to vote. This is a crucial part of the legislation to prove such an offence was committed. Our investigation team, led by an experienced senior investigating officer, spoke to all four volunteers from Democracy Volunteers as part of our enquiries – obtaining a copy of their observations. We also spoke to the Presiding Officers at 15 stations as well as the Acting Returning Officer, none of whom received any reports other than from Democracy Volunteers. We have received no further criminal reports. For us to investigate allegations, we require an understanding of who the potential suspects may be, and evidence that may corroborate eyewitness accounts. For an investigation to meet the criminal threshold for prosecution, we require admissible evidence of intent or action aimed at influencing the vote. We have asked Democracy Volunteers for descriptions of those alleged to be involved, and timings on when these are believed to have occurred. These details were not documented by observers or the complainant, and we have not been provided with any identities or descriptions to pursue. The absence of this information means there is no remaining reasonable line of enquiry. This also includes limitations with CCTV as an absence of descriptions, and votes not being time-stamped, meaning we are not able to identify individuals from footage. We have approached all 45 polling stations in the Gorton and Denton constituency to ask for CCTV from the day. Forty-one of those polling stations told us they did not have CCTV activated in the building as it would have compromised the secrecy of the vote during polling day, in line with advice given. We have seized and viewed CCTV from three of the remaining four polling stations. These are three polling station that Democracy Volunteers visited. We have spoken to the Presiding Officer from each one. However, these stations do not show any evidence of anyone directing or coercing another regarding how to vote – the crucial part of the legislation to prove such an offence was committed. There is no evidence to suggest any intent to influence or refrain a person from voting as stated in the Ballot Secrecy Act 2023. We have been liaising with the Electoral Commission, who we have shared our findings with. We have also shared our findings with the Returning Officer. We have updated the complainant about the work of our investigation and the conclusion we have reached.

@g__j Greg don't you think we can do both? Why can't we have 100% renewables/clean in the UK but also sell North sea oil and gas into the global market to make profit for our nation? That money could be used to fund road repairs, NHS, welfare or whatever.

Regardless of whether the UK drills more from the North Sea - this, from Larry Fink - underlines our global vulnerability when we rely upon fossil fuels. For the first time in 100 years we have an alternative - typically cheaper and more secure. Electrification offers the chance for countries to be more independent, prices more stable, consumption to be more efficient, and noone can hold you hostage.

@Ed_Miliband Why can't we do both? As much clean renewable power as we can use, plus sell North sea oil and gas for money into the Treasury. Use our resources, all of them, to benefit us all.

Conflict in the Middle East has once again shown that clean power is essential for energy security. That’s why we’re speeding up action, with solar panels to be fitted as standard on new homes and plug-in solar to be made available in shops within months. lbc.co.uk/article/miliba…

@Johnpiggford @JordanEVGuy @OctopusEnergy To a higher rate sure. The point is I'm now trapped by the variable prices because they are lower than a fix but higher than they otherwise would have been if I was on fixed IOG rather than variable IOG.

Hey @OctopusEnergy. Why are some customers getting 3.49p night rate and some are getting 5.2p? Great to see rates coming down across the board, but lots of confusion.

@JordanEVGuy @OctopusEnergy My standing charge gone up over 10%. It's not good this. Ok night rate down from 7p to 5.2 but for how long? @OctopusEnergy never communicated the benefits of fixed IOG to variable customers and now I'm worse off.

@johnredwood Thx for reply - most don't. But, a 1p cut in 2011 and a 5p cut in 2022. Don't politicians understand that transport is the life blood of the economy? We have some of the most expensive fuel (and energy) in the world. Structural changes are needed to drive growth, not 1p cuts.

The Chancellor is going to prevent company price gouging ,when the main reason we have sky high energy prices is tax gouging by the government. Tax is 55% of the petrol price.

Jewish volunteer ambulances were set on fire overnight. We don’t know who did it. Let’s see what the police say in the coming days. But it looks to me like terrorism. Plain and simple. An attack designed to intimidate all British Jews. An attack on our free society. What’s shocking is it’s not shocking. Successive Governments have been weak on antisemitism. Weak on radical Islamists. And weak on Iran. Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya appear to be claiming responsibility for the attack. As they have done with four other attacks on Jewish institutions across Europe in the last fortnight. Regardless of who is found to be behind the attack, we need action now. Talk is cheap. Stop issuing visas for hate preachers and deport those that are here. Stop the boats that are bringing in people who hate our country. End the disaster of mass migration that has brought in people who are clearly rabidly anti-British and antisemitic. Proscribe the IRGC. Ban the Muslim Brotherhood. Shut down mosques with radical preachers spewing hate. Yes, properly fund the Community Security Trust that safeguards Jewish communities. But that’s managing the symptoms, not getting to the heart of the matter.

Quite extraordinary that one group have their own ambulances and vehicles and some that look like police cars . Can anyone just set up an ambulance service with a different number for quick service? These Ambulances do treat other groups but people with the number get quicker service.

Why Mid East conflict pushes up mortgage rates in 6 simple steps... 1. Short supply means higher oil, gas & some other commodity prices 2. As well as direct impact on petrol, heating oil, energy bills, this increases transport, cold storage and other business costs, which they pass on to us. 3. So prices are likely to rise, and inflation is the measure of price rises. 4. Bank of England is targeted on keeping inflation low. As its rising, its main tool is the UK base rate of interest (higher rates make saving more attractive and borrowing less, taking money out of economy to reduce "demand" to try and ease inflation). 5. While UK base rate hasn't changed the markets think rate cuts are now less likely. 6. In v simple terms new Mortgage fixed rates are based on the City's long term view of interest rates. That's now higher than it was so mortgage fixed rates have gone up.

@MartinSLewis @mmhpi Super off topic - can you please explain to me like I’m 5 years old…. Why are mortgage rates going up because of the war? And inflation. I am really struggling to understand…..

@MartinSLewis Your mechanism is right but your logic is wrong. Tell me what anyone can do about SUPPLY shock inflation? It is NOT an excess money supply driven problem, so removing money supply from the economy (which is what raising rates does) will not fix it. All it does is punish.

Cadbury has changed Easter to “This Season.” But they’re still profiting from selling Easter Eggs. Christianity is not shameful. It is not offensive. Not another dime should be spent on Cadbury products by any Christian. Anywhere. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

In six days i've produced 176 kWh of electricty from my roof in Wales. The average home in the UK uses between 50 and 70 kWh a week. It's March. We have war. Strikes on world power supplies and fear. Energy security for your home is fantastic! We need more rooftop solar and battery storage. I can use this electricty to, cook, clean clothes, heat hot water and even add some charge to my car all without any interfence from the world. I can even help my adding energy to the grid. octopusreferral.link/solar-panels-i…
