You know (sometimes with your help) I had a 20+ year war with the ICAEW over the meaning of "prima facie" as in "case" and "independent" as in Reviewer of Complaints!
Should we have done more to have stopped this happening?

@4reform @janea216 You are right Jeff and that is why I say these are cosmetic reforms and will do nothing to call the accounting industry to account or force accounting firms to bear the cost of their own negligence and follies.

Just now in the House f Lords I asked to UK govt to appoint an independent public inquiry into the finance industry - bribery, corruption, money laundering, mis-selling products. In response, the Minster sang praises of the finance industry. Dice is loaded in favor of miscreants.
