This blonde police officer on #eastenders is completely out of order. Her attitude and behaviour is horrific!

It’s safe to say that @CrossCountryUK are the worst train company for first class service! 5 and half hours in - Trolley has been around twice. Someone, somewhere is making a mint and it’s not being spent on customer service! Awful.

This highlights to me a difficult message after reading the citation. Here goes, this might be controversial. 1200 hours over a year!! Wow. An exceptional commitment that the vast majority of volunteers could not match, that is virtually full time policing! In no way taking anything from these achievements, I wonder if policing really understands the difficult decisions many if not most specials have to make about the time they to give to police their communities. Those that can only give a little time seem often to be less valued, or even treated as HR or disciplinary problems, as if they had a contract like their regular colleagues. That time to volunteer taken from families, caring responsibilities, children, is so very precious, and every hour should be welcomed, valued and celebrated IMHO.

@HantsLeadSC @Miles_PBH 2/2 all the extra training I’ve signed up to do (intox/drugs wipe etc), the attendance at jobs/custody to help regulars with that process, the proactive patrols & number of tickets for no insurance given etc etc. you’ve looked at a very very fine part of the article and assumed!

@Miles_PBH That’s why “hours” are a poor indication of value …. Need to look beneath the hours and see what the Sc has contributed - a far better barometer.

@HantsLeadSC @Miles_PBH Which is why the citation does in part. There’s obviously bits missing which haven’t been. Included in the article and “hours” is just one very small part of the picture. Obviously it can’t go into detail about the arrests, the complexity that comes with them, the paperwork… 1/2

@special_local @Miles_PBH It’s absolutely NOT setting a target for others. As I’ve said in replies already you’re focussing on hours rather than the impact. I also think saying someone has issues, that you don’t even know is pretty judgemental and ill thought. Do you judge everyone like this on jobs?

@Miles_PBH 2 problems with this. It sets an unobtainable target for the average special who sees 1200 hours as the point to be recognised. From experience SCs who do these hours have issues & don’t last too long, collecting complaints from the public and colleagues.

@Miles_PBH You’ve focussed on the wrong bit here. This isn’t just about hours but also impact. And of course the article doesn’t contain everything that was submitted. Every hour that anyone gives is absolutely valued & important; my hours aren’t a target or example for others to achieve.

When you give up volunteering after such a long time in an organisation you forget the impact you had. Thanks to @McNultyAckroyd for bringing back all the reasons why I did it!! Inspiring young people was the one. Changing one persons life makes it all worth while! ❤️

Was absolutely not ready to say goodbye to my main man this morning. Not even a full day without him & I’m missing him crazy! All of the ‘firsts’ hurt… first time feeding the other two, looking at them in the garden without him… Absolutely devastated and heartbroken! 💔💔😭😭
