This design taste is breathtaking. It blew my mind when I first saw it. What an elegant use of modern form with a nostalgic touch. Is this the new design trend? I bet so. 🤯

The interface of the future is human. We’ve raised a $40M Series B from CRV, Scale, Sequoia, and YC to teach machines the art of being human, so that using a computer feels like talking to a friend or a coworker. And today, I’m excited for y’all to meet the PALs: a new human-computing interface. PALs are emotionally intelligent, multimodal, and capable of understanding and perceiving. They can see, hear, reason, and even look like us. We’re releasing our 5 favorite PALs to start. Each PAL has its own distinct personality- from AI assistants to best friends. PALs: - Meet us where we are. Face-to-face over video call, on the phone, or even by text. - Are always thinking. They’re proactive, reach out first, remind you about what you forgot, or might just check in on you. - Understand us, finally. PALs can see us, understand our tone, emotion, and intent, and communicate in ways that feel more human. - Evolve with you. PALs have advanced memory, remember your preferences and needs, and adapt themselves over time. - Are capable. PALs can handle complex tasks — from responding to your emails to moving your schedule around to creating docs and doing research for you. Science fiction promised us a new human-computer interface, beyond the GUIs of yesterday, a human-like interface that would feel second-nature to use. That future never came, until now. Charlie’s story brings this idea to life. We’re excited for you to meet Charlie and his PALs for free at tavus.io Enjoy the film 👇

I absolutely love what Mobbin has become. In 2024, I tried to launch a little product called Teardowns focusing solely on AI design patterns in software. The reality hit me that it is tireless work to keep up with and track pattern updates and catalog them. Huge respect for this team for keeping an up-to-date catalog of real-world product design patterns. And now they're even branching into cataloging animations. This is one of my no-brainer subscriptions.

@byleeholmes Pretty much 90% of what's on my feed came from discovering people through designers I already followed, think of it similar to Pinterest, the more stuff you view and interact with in one niche, the more it appears on your fyp

@JordanGilroy Yes always!! I know I can do better, but I think that just comes from improving over time. I try to make every project better than the last at least

I always feel good about a project while working on it, right up until going live, then once it’s out there in the world I feel pretty shitty about it, thinking I could have and should have done so much better. Does anyone else get like that? In a way it’s good, because it keeps me focused and striving to do better. But it also sucks to feel like that!

@satyaa UX improvements can come from creating websites/products and analysing how people use them, so that you can make improvements later. I feel like not enough people do this. It’s a great way to get better at UX, problem solving etc. imo

My real problem working with most of designers on X is their profiles look good… But when I actually pay for a real project, the output isn’t even close. Great UI, but weak UX thinking. No handling of complex flows. And yeah, I’ve burned a lot of money because of this. I’m not blaming anyone. I’m also wrong for not evaluating designers properly. But let’s be honest: too many designers are just recreating or remixing others’ work. It improves your UI, sure - but it won’t teach you UX, problem-solving, or product thinking. And that’s exactly what clients pay for. Now I’m stuck not knowing how to find truly experienced designers anymore.

X has become a battlefield lately. Lots of drama, callouts, exposed DMs. Not sure who to trust anymore :d You can fake a lot on here - revenue numbers, client logos, your past experience, your lifestyle. But you can't fake character. Build something real and treat people right.

Had this same question when creating a toggle to switch between grid and list views recently. I think it’s better to show what pressing the button would change it to. If a user can see a list, then they would expect a grid to show up when they press the toggle. The same would apply to a theme toggle I think

Question. Should a dark/light mode toggle like this show a) the current mode? b) the mode that clicking it would enable?
