@Hush_Kit I think perhaps I said it was true ? I guess the purists would say that it wasn't really HOTAS as the throttles only had a TX switch and air brake selector the weapons were all on the radar hand controller and stick @ianPlaneTalks
@JeremyClarkson@RAFBrizeNorton 33 Sqn Pumas out of Benson had a great time looking for the Lightning in your garden about 20 years ago at your old gaff. 50’ low level transit for helicopters was standard back then. Lot of wires at that height.
@fibo74@almurray@WeHaveWaysPod@James1940 James! Top bloke. I met him and Stanley early Sun morning around a fire pit. Apparently, Stanley goes everywhere with him on BA business flights. Think he’s probably got his own Gold Exec Club card.
@likesmokenoakum@almurray@WeHaveWaysPod@GoalhangerPods@James1940@FinleysTouch Met the guy around a fire-pit @ midnight. He was happily wearing his new hat and carrying around a portrait (that he’d commissioned) of Stanley (?), a 98 yr old former Sherwood Forester he’d met at WHWF #1 and who had been RTU’d from the nascent SAS for being too violent!
In the bath reflecting on this weekend's @WeHaveWaysPod festival (& my fantastic pins). What the @GoalhangerPods team have built for @James1940 and me &, more importantly, our listeners is truly wonderful; & your generosity towards @FinleysTouch beyond compare

@jamesbackagain@theRealWattwurm US Gal = 0.8 Imp Gal so their 27-34mpg = 34-42mpg which is +/- 10% of what I was getting from a 1.0 Ecoboost 125bhp Euro spec Fiesta to be fair.
It’s so true. I saw that ford in the USA are offering cars at “Staff Discount” prices.
There cars are cheap. But how the hell do they make their cars so inefficient?
They have cars with 2.0l engines that only manage to get 21 mpg!!
This one is a small car with a 1.5l engine and only manages to get 27-34 mpg!!
🇺🇸Dear Americans 🇪🇺
Since some people think that Europeans hate you and therefore don't buy your products, I would like to correct that. Yes, we are surprised at you, that's right! Yes, we also shake our heads. But hate? No! The problem with your (1/9) #tariffs#blackmonday
@BurnsideWasTosh I found myself stood next to Edward Fox at a Countryside Alliance demo 20 years or so ago and my first reaction was that he was the Jackal... Nice bloke, he agreed to come and speak to the 6th Form at the school I was then teaching at.
@metoffice Do you really need to warn people in Western Scotland of forecast rain? I’m sure they’re expecting it, you know, living at the edge of a 3000 mile oceanic wet weather generator.
Oh my god… if this is true it must be the new poll tax.
The proposal is;
House value x 0.5%
So a house that was £500,000 20 years ago and is now £1.5m will cost £625 a month!!
New council tax band system under Labour will push bills up by £1,230 apple.news/AG_6_w6-fQOiJ9…
I drove over a bridge near Oxford and paid a man the 5p (6.4¢) toll.
Min wage in the UK is £11.44; to break even they’d need 458 cars/hour to cross (2 tollmen).
The bridge is a tax haven- privately owned, George III decree’d it tax free indefinitely in 1769.
Fact of the Day: The Puma helicopter can turn off its Spinny Things (also known as Rotators On The Airplanes Roof) to save fuel when close to the ground and uses magnets in its underside to repell from the earth's magnetic core.

The RAF can’t spend tax payers money on keeping aircraft capacity just for D-Day anniversaries. It is currently supporting multiple, world-wide operations with the A400M. Aid to Gaza or Ukraine or a day out for the paras….? dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
