@natetepp @SouthwestAir Hey Nate - I’m not one to come to an airline’s defense but you probably should have addressed seating when you bought the ticket, since they tell you that for the cheaper fares you don’t get to choose.

Warning to all parents never fly @SouthwestAir. I just checked in online for our flight home tomorrow and our five year-old is sitting in a row by himself. The agent on the phone refused to move him. He told me I could try to ask them to fix it at the airport, but no guarantees.

@californiapost $70K for a starting teacher? Seems ridiculously low when the median salary in LA county is >$90K. How are these teachers supposed to afford living in LA with that low of a salary?

San Frapocalypse My apartment in downtown San Francisco has been broken into several times in the past. On multiple occasions I have awakened to my door being kicked in by burglars. More than once I have had to fight off burglars naked, with just my two hands, while my girl is screaming bloody murder. These are character building life events that really strengthen you. Something deep inside me snapped when I called 911 and was told to leave a voicemail at the beep. Turns out leftist judges releasing criminals the next day has a negative impact on our community. As fate would have it, defunding the police saw a direct correlation in the rise of crime in our city. Most modern Men in California would have totally rolled over and allowed their loved ones and home to be robbed. Not me. Fuck You. And fuck these democrat laws. Don’t worry, America. I’m writing an autobiography. New Times Bestseller is an understatement.

I would probably not write a note saying I was expecting a bigger tip. How much of a tip would you leave on a bill that was $577.36?

So, I did exactly what you asked and I sat down and read ALL 261 pages of your bill. It does support mass amnesty and I'll tell you exactly where: Pages 162-170... The Dream Act: You grant conditional lawful permanent resident status to ILLEGAL ALIENS who: >Have been continuously present in the U.S. since January 1, 2021 >Entered before age 18 >Meet education, employment, or military service requirements >Pass criminal background checks On top of this, in Sec. 2102(b)(3)(B), DACA recipients get fast-tracked to conditional green card status. ...which is literally mass amnesty BUT THE BILL GOES EVEN FURTHER!!! On pages 204-217, you present the Dignity Program: This is a separate track for illegal aliens who don't qualify for the Dream Act. If you are an illegal aliens who: > Was continuously present since December 31, 2020 >Pay a $1,000 upfront "restitution" fee >Submit biometrics, pass a background check >No felony convictions You get work authorization + travel authorization + deferred removal for 7 years After completing the 7-year program (paying $7,000 total in fees, staying employed, obeying laws, paying back taxes): We grant you: > "Dignity Status" which is essentially a lawful nonimmigrant status, which is renewable any number of times >Work and travel authorization But the most important bit that you're hiding here is that it totally suspends deportation of anyone who qualifies for this. This would effective end ALL MASS DEPORTATIONS in the United States immediately. You are a liar, you are a fraud, everything you stand for is fake... did YOU read your own bill? Because I just did, and you are a damned LIAR!!!!!

NEW: President Trump says somebody leaked to a media outlet that the first F-15E pilot had been rescued but that the US military was looking for a second crew member. He says Iran didn't know that at the time, and his admin will go to the media outlet who reported it try to force them to disclose their source in the interest of national security or "go to jail".

A little perspective:  The cost of rescuing that airman in Iran (lost aircraft and all) was a fraction of the cost of Somali fraud in Minnesota.

I’m up in the middle of the night and am about to go back to sleep. But seeing the news of this pilot being rescued after one of the most daring rescue operations in history has me motivated beyond belief. To the media and the haters who’ve been obsessed with palace intrigue stories. Trying to sow division and calling for the heads of our leaders. I hope this news hurts. I hope it hurts a lot. I have my finger on the pulse of the information machine these days. And what I’ve seen over the past 48 hours is the weaponization of said machine. Bots, grifters, and partisan hacks all working in unison literally rooting for our failure. Rabid. Drooling. Damn near praying to satan for our own pilot to be killed or captured. Hyenas, the lot of them. All cheering against America. While they’ve all been groaning like demons for the heads of our leaders and warriors, people like @PeteHegseth, @SeanParnellASW and others have just been busily…. doing the job to get our guy back. Nothing I type here will matter at 0300. But when the world wakes up in a few hours, it’ll see the fruits of merit based leadership at echelon. All the way down the chain. An Airman safely home after evading capture for over a day. An epic rescue that will be remembered for generations. Millions inspired by the shear power and conviction of the United States military. And millions more disappointed by it, because they were praying for our national embarrassment. I’m not sorry you’re witnessing a competent war machine in action. I’m not sorry that our leadership will never leave anyone behind. I’m not sorry for any hurt feelings caused by this. Because you were never on our team anyway. God Bless America.🇺🇸

The Twins announced 15,256 tickets sold tonight. Down nearly 1,000 from game two last year. That's largely reflective of the dip in season ticket holder base. The 1.768 million fans last year was a low-water mark dating back to 2001. They will be under that number this season.

@EricLDaugh As the Supreme Court is poised to rule on Trump’s request to end birthright citizenship - it might be a good time to mention the fact that Ivana was not a US citizen when Don Jr, Ivanka & Eric were born, and Melania was not a US citizen when Barron was born.

🚨 NOW: President Trump just witnessed a MASTERCLASS where Solicitor General John Sauer gave a perfect response to Justice John Roberts on birthright citizenship "What does that mean, subject to the jurisdiction thereof? And he says, it means not owing allegiance to ANYBODY ELSE. That is what it means." Illegal aliens owe allegiance to their country of birth, not America. Open and shut.

Because there aren't 50 + JD votes for the SAVE Act in the Senate -- Thune has said that in response to the demand for the "Talking Filibuster." The talking filibuster will fail because a small number of GOP Senators will vote "No" in the end -- Murkowski, Collins, Tillis, maybe McConnell, and a small number of others not yet named.
Jim Pfefferle@JRPfeff

@shipwreckedcrew Why couldn't SAVE Act be passed in the same way?

Ran some diligence on SiriusXM this weekend Not because anyone asked Because my 14-year-old nephew connected his phone to my car via Bluetooth, played a Spotify playlist, and asked me what the "SXM" button was for I didn't have an answer So I pulled the 10-K SiriusXM is an $8.56B revenue company with nearly $10B in debt and a $7.4B market cap Read that again The debt is larger than the company Their business model, simplified: 1. Pay automakers to install radios nobody asked for 2. Give every new car buyer a free trial they didn't request 3. Hope they forget to cancel 4. Charge them $25.99/month for something their phone does for $10.99 That's it. That's the model. They have 33M subscribers. Sounds impressive until they lost 301,000 self-pay subscribers last year. And hundreds of thousands the year before that. Revenue has declined three consecutive years The average subscriber is 35-64, male, household income over $150K. Over half have been paying for 10+ years. These aren't loyal customers These are people whose spouses haven't noticed the $25.99 charge on the Amex yet The crown jewel of the portfolio is Howard Stern. They pay him roughly $100M a year. He works three days a week. His show averages 125K daily listeners. That's $800 per listener per year My analyst did the math three times because he thought he was wrong He wasn't For that price, you could buy each listener a Spotify family plan, an Audible subscription, and still have enough left for AirPods Speaking of Spotify. Nearly 290M premium subscribers. Growing double digits. $10.99/month. Available on every device ever made. SiriusXM. 33M subscribers. Shrinking. $25.99/month. Requires a satellite. Spotify's full-year revenue grew 19%. SiriusXM's declined 2%. Spotify trades at 74x earnings. SiriusXM trades at 5x. The market is not confused about which direction these businesses are headed Their growth strategy is called the "trial funnel." There are 7.3M people driving cars with free SiriusXM trials. The conversion rate is not publicly disclosed. Probably because it's embarrassing They have 180M "enabled vehicles" in the U.S. They have 33M subscribers. That's an 18% attach rate on hardware they already paid to install. 82% of the cars with their radios in them are generating zero revenue In any other industry an 18% hit rate gets you fired In satellite radio, it gets you a seat on the NYSE Adjusted EBITDA margin is 31%. Looks healthy. Until you realize "adjusted" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting in a company that posted a $2.08B net loss the year prior. Adjusted EBITDA was $2.73B that same year The distance between those two numbers is called addbacks And they're working overtime 2026 guidance: flat revenue, flat EBITDA, slightly fewer subscribers. The CEO called this stability and meaningful progress. On Wall Street, we call this managed decline Warren Buffett owns 35.4% of this company. This is the most confusing part. The man who said "be fearful when others are greedy" bought a satellite radio company in the age of Bluetooth. His entry was a Liberty Media arb play that accidentally became a long-term hold. The stock is down over 50% from its highs. I don't know why he's still in. You don't know why. His shareholders definitely don't know why. The bull thesis: SiriusXM has 33M people who have been paying $15/month for a decade and have no plans to stop. That's $6B in recurring revenue from people who may not even remember they're subscribed. Churn is 1.5%. Lower than most SaaS companies. The bear thesis: Every teenager alive today has never used a car radio Both are probably right SiriusXM's competitive moat is not content. It's not technology. It's not brand. It's the 47 minutes it takes to cancel over the phone SiriusXM isn't a bad company. It's a case study in what happens when your moat is consumer apathy and your growth strategy requires General Motors. Plz fix. Thx. Sent from my iPhone

Tom Homan drops the mic on CNN’s Jake Tapper after he attempted to frame ICE as doing things “differently” under the Trump administration. “The laws are EXACTLY the same…If they don’t like what ICE is doing, CHANGE the law.” TAPPER: “Well, I think some of the issues that they’ve raised have to do with ways that ICE is doing its job differently now than they were doing it, even in the first Trump administration…” HOMAN: “The laws are exactly the same. Let’s talk about the masks.” “You don’t see ICE wearing masks inside the airports because they’re not on the street arresting criminals. You got the agitators who cross the line and threaten ICE agents.” “The same people in the Democratic Congress that want ICE to take off the masks are the same people who say ICE is going to shoot people inside airports. I mean, you can’t have it both ways!” “So if you want ICE to take the masks off, the threat level has to decrease. It’s an 8,000% increase in threats against ICE officers. And that’s because a lot of the rhetoric coming from the Hill.” “Stop calling ICE Nazis and racists. Stop saying they’re going to shoot people inside airports. That’s going to drive the threat level down. And we can talk about masks.” “So, you know, we got to work together on this, but ICE is doing the same thing they’ve done during the 40 years I’ve been doing it. Again, they’re enforcing the laws that they enacted. If they don’t like it, change the law.” “The law hasn’t changed. The difference is, under the last four years of Joe Biden, they weren’t enforcing the law. Now ICE is actually enforcing the law, doing their job, and they don’t like it. If they don’t like what ICE is doing, change the law.”
