I recently realized that most of my beliefs are lies. “I don’t like this.” “I prefer doing that.” “I’m not the kind of guy who does this.” Most of it is just a mask to stay consistent with my past actions. But once I break the habit, move somewhere else, or change the people around me, the mask fades… and I wonder how I could’ve believed XYZ in the first place. I think it’s called cognitive dissonance, and I’m amazed by how much it impacts almost every decision I make.

@ArrowInvestor Much harder to admit its a tax grab much easier to just keep focusing on property which btw is STILL a more tax efficient investment

How dumb is this tool. Chalmers asked why are they changing the tax on shares not just property? He says because shares have been under compensated for the past 2 decades. So he will now compensate them by increasing tax on them?

@dubzyxbt You’re actually able to defer your cgt to later when you actually sell it or when you return to Australia. There isn’t really an exit tax in the sense of you must do it lol

$5/video creative. $5.32 meta CPA. 2x ROAS. customer just sent me his meta ads dashboard. the creatives are dansugc b-rolls. real humans. reaction format. batch of 25. total creative spend: $125. > 28 trials > $5.32 CPA > $11 revenue per trial his quote: "this is basically a 2x ROAS because we make about $11 upfront per trial start and the CPA is 5.5" most ugc agencies charge $150-300/video. we charge $5. same real humans. 30x cheaper. this is how cheap real human UGC has become. we just added 30 free ugc reactions on signup. reply "free" if you want the link.

Australian startup and smb crashout from tax changes... built a tax calc to calculate the difference in how much you pay the gov on an exit Disgraceful tax grab under the guise of helping home ownership. The NG and CGT changes should apply to property ONLY! #australia

@jessethanley I was talking to some other guys and I think the unfairness from this is that it treats the length of the business as an effort-free gain similar to property when there is real sweat (and taxes) paid all the way to a sale...

BEFORE: Start company Invest money (that has been taxed) Pay tax to hire people Pay salaries and more tax Pay tax on expenses to run it (GST) Pay tax on any remaining profits Pay tax on any dividends and income NOW: All of the above + if you defy all odds and actually sell your company pay 47% to the government. Australia is the worst western country to build a business in. Great work @AlboMP!
Ben Thompson@bnthompson

The budget’s CGT changes are supposed to target housing affordability. But scrapping the 50% discount for startup equity, shares and business investments is self-defeating. Foreign investors & multinationals already pay little/no CGT here. Australian families now face up to 47% on real gains. Domestic risk capital dries up. Reverse it for non-property assets. Keep the proven 50% discount for equities & startups.

@adamlyttleapps This is the biggest issue with growth hacking and you can’t easily keep remaking dev accounts… dont know if there is an internal strike count system either like Google

The thing being missed amongst the drama here: This type of message from Apple used to get the account terminated without explanation Now the app gets removed, and hopefully, is restored once the issue is fixed We know the Cal AI app was removed for a similar reason and then restored. This signals to me: it’s not just massive big accounts that get second chances now (let’s wait to see whether that’s confirmed) And, to be fair, it was kinda unknown whether it was the actual retention offer that got Cal AI removed. My interpretation is that it was the wording, the spinning animation, etc as well. Now we have a definitive answer: no retention offers.

@Charles_SEO Yep happened to me, also there is no way to track reinstatements except manually and obviously there is no real recovery even if it comes back especially for cyclic news content

Your competitors don't need to rank higher than you anymore... They just need a fake DMCA, a faked lawyer site, and Google's own systems will remove your website from search results ⚠️ The page comes down IMMEDIATELY!!! The reinstatement takes weeks, and by then your rankings are gone. Oh, and they can repeat the entire thing as many times as they want, perpetually keeping your pages suspended from search results. I just published the full exposé on how this works, why Google won't fix it, and what's coming next 👇

There's this instant feeling of dread the moment you book a venue and then put an invitation out What if no-one comes? Brings me back to high school, hosting a party and realising if nobody shows you're going to look like a fool So I'm excited to see 6 people have already registered! Instant relief

Registrations now open! If you're an indie developer in Melbourne. Come enjoy a breakfast together while we watch the WWDC26 keynote There will be a door prize (to be confirmed) And plenty of opportunities to meet other local indie devs

Venue is paid for and BOOKED! Melbourne Indie Devs WWDC26 watch party Tuesday June 9th @ 10AM Just finalising the breakfast menu options and I'll be opening up registrations I didn't want to put a door charge on the event, but it might make sense to ensure people are committed (reduce no-shows) Maybe I'll offer a door prize or something
Adam Lyttle@adamlyttleapps

@LexnLin The image being generated is usually pretty shit imo, it looks great on paper but transferred to the web on multiple screens it falls apart pretty fast it needs to generate way less complex and replicable layouts

Saw a few people struggling with the image-to-code approach. I want to take the time to write another article to explain more. Please reply with what your painpoint is and what doesn't work. Feedback would be much appreciated! :)
Leon Lin@LexnLin

Built another website design only by adding the full imagegen-frontend-web skill and prompting "Based on the skill above, generate images for a website. The design should include eight sections, with one image per section, for a total of eight distinct images."
