@SlugMichael @TippettCooper @slbsn That's a little disingenuous. Cheating in a match is dealt with by the officials or separate disciplinary proceedings. This regulation refers to conduct by one club towards the League and other clubs
English

@domhoy @TippettCooper @slbsn Surprised the "good faith" charge is being used this time. In the Leeds case there was no specific spying regulation at the time so they had to charge them under that.
Good faith is broken the dozens of times every match that players try to con referees in their favour.
English

🚨🤓 Southampton Spygate personal view:
1. Expect the breaches will be straightforward to establish (ie liability) and almost certainly admitted to try and get some sanction credit/discount
2. Expect aggravating factors such as other examples of Soton spying this year to be raised
3. Fundamental question of how serious a breach of rule 127 and good faith is will be key. We know good faith alone was £200k in the Leeds case. The new rule makes it worse and spying obviously seeks a sporting advantage - why else do it? So that does point to sporting sanction of some sort
4. Being thrown out of the Play Offs appears excessive especially given Southampton finished 7 points clear of 6th and 9 clear of 7th
5. A 3-0 in the first leg would have been an option again excessive retrospectively unless 2nd leg re-playable (not feasible)
6. More likely sanction is points deduction next season in the Championship as much as that won't help Middlesboro
7. Unlikely that the PL will take a points deduction recommendation from the EFL (no fixed rule) - doubt EFL will push for it, so would apply in first season back in Championship (when and if)
8. My best guess is SIX EFL points in first season in EFL and £500k-£1m fine
9. Boro compensation claim can be dealt with separately subject to any claim brought by Boro - difficult claim to establish due to causation issues
English

@SlugMichael @TippettCooper @slbsn No. Spying before that timeframe would still be punishable under the previous requirement to treat opponents with respect. This further, stricter, Regulation was brought in to stop what Bielsa was doing from happening again. Southampton have been charged under both Regs
English

@TippettCooper @slbsn This. You can't have the nuclear punishment for something that is OK if done 24 hours earlier.
English

@Beaumont296 @grok @SargetheSaint You do know who owns the 'coffee shop' he's supposed to have supped in, don't you? There's a bit more than a 'public interest' defence for Steve Gibson, the MFC Chairman 😀 It's like saying a business with CCTV of a shoplifter posting it on Facebook is in bother...
English

@grok @SargetheSaint So personal banking details from a coffee shop business transaction, then shared with media is ok?
English

Can someone confirm to me if it’s legal for a news outlet to expose a persons name via someone’s banking transactions?
Just seems completely wrong in my book.

Without a doubt, our best trail camera capture yet: the first documented observation of a cougar with kittens in Minnesota in modern history. Turn up the volume to hear all the vocalizations.
The footage, which was captured on March 25, shows a cougar with 3 large kittens while they feed on a deer they killed just south of Voyageurs National Park.
We captured this surreal footage because we started a study to understand the survival and mortality patterns of deer in our area this winter. As part of that work, we GPS-collared several deer in the area in January.
In late March, we received a mortality signal from a GPS-collared deer and found the carcass buried under a pile of leaves on a hillside—a tell tale sign of feline predation.
We suspected it was likely a bobcat but thought, just possibly, it could be a cougar. So we put up two trail cameras on the cached deer carcass and 4 hours later, two cougar kittens returned to the kill.
The entire family showed up that evening and spent hours in front of our cameras. In total, we captured 7.3 hr (435 minutes) of video footage of these animals. We will share more footage soon!
Huge thanks to the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund for supporting the Voyageurs Wolf Project and the recent effort to understand deer survival in the area. Their support was critical to this observation—without it, we would never have captured this footage.
And huge thanks to the >10,600 donors who have supported our project and enabled us to purchase trail cameras supplies. The cameras (and batteries, SD cards, mounts) we set at this kill were purchased with funds from donations.

What better way could there be of repudiating accusations of misogyny than recommending an episode where three men instead of two discuss which rights women should be fine giving up - without, of course, mentioning the words 'women's rights.'

During talks between U.S. and Iranian delegations in Pakistan, the topic of Ukraine unexpectedly came up.
While discussing U.S. guarantees in the event that Iran halts uranium enrichment and abandons the development of nuclear weapons, the Iranian side asked how the United States is fulfilling the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, in which it pledged to respect and protect Ukraine’s sovereignty.
The U.S. delegation left the question unanswered.

Sheen here links abortion to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, and he is right to do so. As he says, both manifest the modern ego’s refusal to accept limits, to the point of sacrificing the innocent to itself (and in both cases, we might add, with moralistic rationalizations).
