My therapist told me to "listen to my body." My body is clearly an unreliable narrator. At 11 PM it says, "We should eat an entire family-size bag of chips, we earned this." At 7 AM it says, "Why would you do that to us, you monster." I tried intuitive eating. My intuition thinks Doritos are a food group. I tried intuitive movement. My body intuitively moved to the couch and refused to leave. Now every sensation feels like a notification I can't swipe away. Apparently my "inner child" is also in there, and he's asking why we haven't had a Capri-Sun in 20 years. If I really listened to my body, I'd be horizontal, hydrated, and unreachable by email.
