forgot to post this from days ago but i tried to load the dark souls 1 (ps3) shaders in demon's souls to see if i could get some of the benefits it has, but got really funny results. knew it wouldn't work, but surprised it loaded at all lol

Xbox firing SyncError, who has been keeping Quake Champions alive for years, is the worst news QC fans could have gotten. Dedicated servers and LAN on QC now may never happen Quake must live on! I vibe coded @QuakeHub to list all servers on all Quakes - quakehub.net

🇪🇺 Chat Control has passed 😔 They can and will now legally scan any person's messages, emails and photos you send without a warrant The way they passed this law when the majority of the European Parliament was against it will shock you: They waited until most EP members were on holiday so only a few were present and then created an "urgent" vote for it to pass it through There's nothing democratic about any of it and big powerful forces are behind this that can manipulate the EU for whatever they want Democracy in Europe died a bit today 😔

Amüsant, wie wegen des Ikkimel-Auftritts im Moma der Niedergang der Gesellschaft befürchtet wird 😄 Ist jetzt auch so gar nicht meine Musik, aber genau so haben meine Eltern geurteilt, als ich mit 17 Rage Against The Machine entdeckt habe. Unerhört, so ein Krach! Man wird halt alt.. wenn ARD und ZDF jetzt wenigstens ansonsten nur Brahms, Beethoven und Jazz ausstrahlen würden, dann würde ich den Outrage ja noch verstehen, aber Leute, da werden doch seit Jahrzehnten komplette Karrieren von Leuten finanziert, die playback „Volksmusik“ performen. Mit seichtesten Texten wie von schlechten Grußkarten abgeschrieben und 4/4-Takt zum mitklatschen auf der 1. Dagegen ist Ikkimel Progmetal 🤘

id software is the video game equivalent of The Beatles. they didn't just basically invent and perfect the entire genre of the first-person shooter, but through their insane innovations in 3d graphics tech, they pretty much invented all of modern video games as we know them today

Dev story to celebrate the good times at idSoftware [this one in the era before MS ownership] - For Doom 2016, both NVIDIA and AMD had offered onsite devtech support to help in OpenGL to Vulkan porting effort for idTech. So AMD shipped me out to id's Richardson/TX office ...

Hey everyone! Resharing my linkedin post here but just wanted to say a few things here real quick: First: I want to extend a huge THANK YOU! To the fans, community, and fellow game devs for sharing mine and others posts on different platforms - very much appreciated. It really means a lot and we were all so very thankful we could give you all many fun experiences over the years that I hope stick with you for a long time and inspire you to create and enjoy! It is a phenomenal feeling when the work you put in is enjoyed! Ya'll made it a great adventure! Secondly, DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations released today! This will be, unfortunately, my last shipped title with the studio and regardless of circumstance I truly hope everyone enjoys it! I will be posting my concept design work from it in the near future .... it was a fun project and a great end cap DOOM trilogy (and my time at the studio lol)! Stay tuned and follow for art and more! And now, previously posted yesterday on Linkedin: After over 12.5 years, one complete game trilogy and 1 day short of the 9th DOOM related project (and 12th project at this studio) I've worked on, myself and many others were informed our roles at id Software were terminated as part of larger organizational changes this morning. I had been very fortunate to have joined the studio at a point in time that felt like being there on the ground floor of something special for the studio. That feeling continued through today, just short of completing the story of trilogy. One of the truly special things about the studio was the sheer amount of skill amongst the team and the exciting and intense collaboration which is what made our games special and successful. With these changes many of my amazing colleagues are taking their institutional knowledge and skill sets into the wider industry. I am looking and open to what could be next in the immediate future; now it is time to put my money where my mouth is and stay focused on improving myself and what I can do to help those around me who were also impacted. Imagine how tone deaf youd need to be to hold the continued brain trust of the studio that defined the PC as a gaming platform, a studio that in the public eye defines the peak of technical mastery, who’s still firing off a 83 metacritic game on a “bad” day, and rip its arms off.

@S1Braw It may very well be that they produce a commercially successful Quake title in the future but I can promise you that it wont have an ounce of its old soul. The old-school community will be the last thought in their design document. Expect an UE6 logo when booting the next Quake

@dr4ch It may not be it for Quake considering Microsoft said they will focus on Quake as a priority going forward- something which clearly wasn't the case for over 25 years. I always appreciated his efforts. We'll see if its truly a disaster or not over the next few years.

Well... thats it for Quake. Syncerror might not have had the best reputation in the community but I know him since around 2007-08 and he truly was breathing and living Quake. No one at id soft will ever care more about Quake like he did. I wish you and your lovely family the best

Quake news, SyncError, the caretaker of Quake Champions since Saber was fired in 2019- was fired today by Microsoft. There are definitely many mixed feelings about this.

@dr4ch Right now gamepad support is still experimental / not officially supported yet. BTD has no aim assist, and because the aiming is very physical, playing with a gamepad can be much harder. Full gamepad support is planned, most likely closer to the 1.0 version of the game.
