It's official - as of November 13, 2025, Blue Origin has taken the lead in the race towards Artemis III, and SpaceX is playing catch-up. As we predicted would happen. Furthering our belief that no matter what the industry, any companies in competition with Musk, paying attention to or stressing out about what Musk is doing, are better off putting their energies into their own projects and ignoring him altogether. BYD doesn't worry about Tesla. Figure 1 and Boston Dynamics don't worry about Optimus. Waymo doesn't worry about FSD. And Blue doesn't worry about SpaceX. They bring their results forward while Musk continues to make excuses for failing to deliver as promised.

@NASAJPL I love the idea of the MSR but the ~$9b estimate and increasing complexity seems a bit steep, especially when @NASA is planning on sending humans by the end of the 2030s. Why not roll the budget for MSR into the human landing plans? It might even help get humans to Mars faster.
