You know what wrecked me when I was converting to Christianity? Jihad is literally the gospel in reverse. Once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. The gospel says Christ shed His blood for YOU. Jihad says you shed your blood for ALLAH. Jesus lays down His life to save His enemies. Jihad calls you to take the lives of enemies in pursuit of God's favor. Christianity says the Shepherd dies so the sheep can live. Jihad says the sheep die hoping the Shepherd accepts them. They are mirrors. One is grace, the other is striving. One says, "It is finished." The other says, "Do more." Jesus never asked me to earn God's love with my blood, he proved God's love by shedding His own. That's why the cross changed everything for me. Jesus didn't come to tell us how to die for God. He came to die for us so we could truly live. PRAISE GOD! I AM FREE! Now, we need to make all the Muslims Christian.

@r0ck3t23 I really appreciate Musk’s contributions, but sight doesn’t need fixing. Biology didn’t “decide” anything. It’s time to dial back the hubris a bit.

Elon Musk just proved every sighted person on Earth is blind. Your eye captures 0.0035% of the electromagnetic spectrum. You are not seeing the universe. You are seeing the sliver your biology decided was enough to keep you alive. That was never vision. That was a survival filter bolted onto your perception four hundred million years ago. No one has ever removed it. Musk: “Blindsight will enable those who have total loss of vision to be able to see again. Including if they have lost their eyes, or the optic nerve.” No eyes. No nerve. The entire optical system physically absent from the skull. Neuralink does not rebuild what broke. It routes around biology entirely. It streams synthetic signal straight into the visual cortex. Your eye never saw anything. Your brain did. Your brain sits in total darkness inside a vault of bone. It has never seen the sun. It has never seen anything. It builds reality out of whatever electrical signal the eye allows through. The eye is the bottleneck between your mind and the universe. Neuralink removes the bottleneck. Musk: “Maybe have never seen, were even blind from birth.” A human who has never perceived a single photon of light. Given sight for the first time. Not through medicine. Through engineering. Musk: “You can see in radar, you can see in infrared, ultraviolet.” Infrared is pouring off every surface in the room around you. Radio waves are passing through your body right now. Ultraviolet is painting patterns across everything you have ever looked at. You cannot see any of it. Your biology locked you out before you were born. Musk: “Superhuman capabilities.” The person born blind would not be restored to human sight. They would see more of the universe than any sighted person who has ever lived. The blind would out-see the sighted. You will not pity them. You will envy them. Musk: “Cybernetic enhancement.” Every human sense is a sensor converting the world into electrical signal. Replace the sensor and the brain does not care where the signal came from. It just processes. Your senses were never built to show you reality. They were built to show you just enough of it to survive. Evolution built a keyhole. We called it sight. Elon Musk is not fixing blindness. He is fixing sight.

@amazing_physics Gravity doesn’t really exist like we thought. It isn’t a force like the van der Waals forces or electomagnetism. It’s a curvature of spacetime which creates a geodesic along which a photon, or any moving body, will travel. Did I get it right?

The potato is sugar wearing a coat. I know. I know. The potassium. The vitamin C. The fibre in the skin. The fact that it kept the Irish alive for a century, right up until it didn't. The wholesome earthy honesty of it, the humble spud, friend of the working man. It is sugar. A medium baked potato lands you around 30 grams of carbohydrate that your body converts to glucose so briskly it barely troubles the chewing. The glycemic index of a baked potato sits up near white bread, higher than a spoon of table sugar in some tests. "Complex carbohydrate" is a lovely phrase that means nothing to your bloodstream, which unpacks it into the same glucose either way and spikes accordingly. The nutrients: yes, technically. A bit of potassium, a bit of C. In a form and a quantity that a single egg or a bite of steak laughs at, wrapped in a payload of starch you have to earn back later with a nap. I am not saying the potato is poison. It filled bellies through hungry centuries and it does the job of being cheap and filling admirably. Nobody starved holding one. It is still sugar. Roast it in beef dripping and enjoy it as the treat it is. Stop putting it on the plate as the health food. It is the garnish pretending to be the main event, and the steak next to it is the one doing the actual work.

You want to disagree with me? Fine. I still love you as a sibling in Christ. No need to get angry or divisive about it. But I contend with every fiber of my being the the King James Bible is the MOST accurate English translation. By a SUBSTANTIAL margin!

ON THIS DATE IN 1980: The generational heat wave continued across much of the southern U.S. Highs (air temperatures, not heat index!) on July 13, 1980 in Alabama included... Birmingham 106 Anniston 105 Tuscaloosa 104 Muscle Shoals 104 Fayette 103 Dothan 103 Troy 103 Huntsville 101 Montgomery 101 Mobile 101 Statewide the hottest day was July 17, 1980, when over 80 percent of the state reached 100 degrees, and nearly one quarter of the state reached 105. The highest reading on that day was 108 degrees recorded in the cities of Bessemer , Aliceville, and Jasper. In the month of July alone, there was an estimated 120 heat-related deaths in Alabama along with the loss of more than 200,000 chickens and half the state's corn crop. Nationally, the heat wave claimed an estimated 1,700 or more lives, devastated agriculture, fueled widespread drought, and caused billions of dollars in losses. Cities like Dallas recorded 42 consecutive days of 100°+ temperatures.

@YouVersion I am concerned with your continued hosting of the Passion “Translation.” Surely by now, you have heard and seen evidence that it is not a translation, and that much of its supplementary material has been plagiarized. I have stopped using YouVersion and encourage others to do the same for as long as you legitimize this thing by keeping it on your platform. Are you planning on removing it from your site and your app? I hope so.

LIFE HACKS NOBODY TAUGHT YOU BUT SHOULD HAVE: 1. Cold water stops bleeding faster than warm. 2. Yawning cools your brain — it’s not boredom, it’s survival. 3. Humming reduces anxiety faster than deep breathing. 4. Your tongue pressed to the roof of your mouth stops a sneeze. 5. Sleeping on your left side protects your heart and aids digestion. 6. Drinking water before meals reduces overeating by 30%. 7. Walking backwards improves memory and focus — science confirmed. 8. Honey never expires — it was found edible in Egyptian tombs. 9. Chewing gum while cutting onions stops the tears. 10. A dead phone can still call 911 — no service needed. 11. Sitting up straight instantly boosts your confidence level. 12. The “20-20-20 rule” saves your eyesight — look 20 feet away every 20 mins for 20 seconds. 13. Napping 10–20 mins recharges better than an hour-long sleep. 14. Cold showers after a workout cut soreness by half. 15. Writing your worries down shrinks them — proven by research. 16. Your body heals faster when you believe it will — that’s not hope, that’s neuroscience.

The longer I live in Christ, the more humble I become—my limited knowledge, my sin, my lack of foresight all remind me God is so much more than me, and yet He created me. He sent His Son to die for me. Christ rose again to live forever for me. I couldn’t imagine this creating pride in me. I only want to try harder to bring Him honor while I can.

None of us are as wise as we think. This fact is actually scary to me. But it’s a good and proper fear that may keep me from grave error. “If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.” — 1 Corinthians 8:2 This passage isn’t advocating for the idea that no one knows anything (for Paul frequently shares his knowledge) but it is arguing against the arrogance and error of presuming we know something more than we do.

HIS STOMACH IS EATING ITSELF The biohacker who spends 2 million dollars a year trying to never die just revealed a diagnosis none of his testing was built to catch. Autoimmune gastritis has no cure and was hiding in plain sight the whole time. - His own immune system is attacking the lining of his stomach - There is no approved cure, only lifelong management - It took 11 years of unexplained low iron before doctors found the cause - He had zero symptoms the entire time it was happening The most tracked human alive still could not see the thing killing him from the inside.
