This argument is kind of flawed though. While every artist eventually moves into their own style they all learned by copying the basic principles from someone or something else. No artist was 100% unique in technique but ultimately the finished product was their own. Just for some reason people find it offensive when a machine takes the very same process.
Yeah I have friends in film animation that lost their jobs but it’s been universally less because of AI no matter how much people want to blame it and more studio consolidation and mergers. AI isn’t helping but it’s still a tool that streamlines the process. One day will or could it duly replace them? Yeah. But then people will have human studios for enrichment or enjoyment. It’s going to eventually push us all out of work we have to do to survive and more into what we do for enjoyment or enrichment anyway. The transition will suck but it’s inevitable.
