Air India confirms that flight AI171, from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, was involved in an accident today after take-off. The flight, which departed from Ahmedabad at 1338 hrs, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals. The injured are being taken to the nearest hospitals. We have also set up a dedicated passenger hotline number 1800 5691 444 to provide more information. Air India is giving its full cooperation to the authorities investigating this incident. Air India will release further information via regular updates on its X handle (x.com/airindia) and on airindia.com. Note to Editors: Air India requests media persons not to call the dedicated passenger hotline number.

Random tip: If anyone is having problems in Iphone about getting low volume ringtones even when the volume is set to max then turn off the “attention awareness” feature. Its inside the Face ID settings. missed an important late night hospital call due to this glitchy feature.

@chaaai Is that little strip of water all the sea view you get? For me going to a beachside location and staying at a place not by the beach or without a proper sea view is another huge con. Esp at those prices.

🏨 JW Marriott Goa Review I was looking for a property to use my 35k award night voucher, the only reasonable options I could find was this new edition to Goa's Marriott portfolio. I believe the owner of this and the JW Mussoorie property is the same. Things I liked: 👍 Unlike the W, the entry to this property is hard to miss and not on a super narrow street. The location is pretty decent too, Vagator/Assagao etc are in proximity. 👍 Quality materials are used throughout the property, unlike the JW Aerocity and others, doesn't come across as tacky, hopefully it'll age well. 👍 They hired Rajdeep Ranawat to do some of the fabric design and the wallpapers, and I must say it's my favorite part. It makes the very "business like" interiors feel a bit more Goan. 👍 Elite recognition, upgraded to the highest category available, free breakfast, lounge hours (5pm - 8pm), welcome amenity. Platinum and above should be good. 👍 The rooms facing the bay are decent, they have a balcony where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. Things I didn't like: 👎 The breakfast is a big letdown, apparently the same person who did it at K3 is responsible for it. Extremely generic, can't get poached eggs right, just get an omelette and leave. 👎 The base category rooms face the arrival drop-off lobby, probably wanted to increase the room count to capture some of the wedding market. Worst category imo. 👎 The lounge is right next to the check-in area. The ceiling is too low, I'm 5'11'' and can easily touch it. Similar to the one they have in JW Aerocity. Though here they do have an outdoor area. 👎 The base category rooms are a bit on the smaller side, 35 sqmt, they have everything you'll need but still for a new property I don't understand why they didn't go with at least 40-45 sqmt. They are pricing it at 25k++ for the base category, which is a bit steep imo, given the poor view, smaller room size and the kind of breakfast on offer. The room I stayed in Luxury Bay View has good view but would cost you around 30-35k a night in season. Definitely not worth it imo. So basically, we have another property with a steep price and average service, that'll only be good for hosting weddings.

No, Sanjay Manjrekar, India have not been beaten by the conditions. They have been beaten by batting slowly in familiar conditions and also not allowing for any margin by playing only 5 bowlers. When you blame the conditions, you are essentially disrespecting the other team.

After burning most of the points stash earned in the golden era of magnus, re-earning and optimizing every spend now is seeming a bit tiresome now. Anyone else feeling the same? Will probably focus more on convenience now and earn gradually.
