I found the "Equal Before The Law: Reviving Faith In International Justice" forum at BAC PJ to be an excellent starting point for a vital conversation. I'm keen to see the discussion continue, with a deeper focus on how this topic intersects with the right to healthcare

For many people an additional RM200 (per family of 2 adults) is much welcomed. If you're scoffing and thinking it hardly makes a difference to you, then maybe you can decide to donate RM200 to an organisation or family that needs it.

As someone who once lived off RM400/month as a broke law student, I can appreciate the impact of RM100 for really low income families. For a 2 adult 2 children household, that's RM200 extra breathing space for either necessities or rare treats like chocolate milk for the kids.

Policy recommendation: Build culturally safe, rights-based health systems with non-punitive access for all, regardless of status. Migrants must not be left behind in public health efforts. #HealthForAll #PolicyReform

@DrAmarMOH I agree with @DrAmarMOH .FPP will reduce specialist care for public patients, & likely increase waiting times. MOs and HOs will have higher work load & less supervision. MOH needs to look for better, sustainable health financing solutions. Say NO to privatisation of public HC

As a specialist in MOH I worked long hours (unpaid) b'cos there were so many children who needed support. Who has the time to do FFP? It may compromise care & push responsibility to younger staff. Just fund our health services better (cut funding to unnecessary agencies).
BFM News@NewsBFM

Hartal Doktor Kontrak expresses support for the expansion of Full Paying Patient services in government hospitals under the Rakan MOH program, citing it as crucial to sustain the public healthcare system. The group says the initiative would help retain specialists and improve access to affordable specialist care for Malaysians. 🧵1

@boosulyn More private exposure at public hospitals. HCW prefer paying patients and may neglect public patients. Longer wait times and less specialist care for public patients. MOH should look for sustainable financing solutions rather than expanding private care.

“I would believe that as a tax-based health financing system, I’ve got to be moving into things like having private health facilities within a public hospital” — Dr Dzul at the World Cancer Congress 2024 in Geneva
CodeBlue@codebluenews

At WCC in Geneva, Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad announces plans to expand "private wings", or the FPP service, in government hospitals to raise revenue, saying the RM1 and RM5 fees in MOH hospitals aren't sustainable. This new program is named Rakan MOH. codeblue.galencentre.org/2024/09/18/min…
