When people say, “I believe in equality, not feminism,” (kareena kapoor) or “I believe in humanity, not feminism” (actress delivering a statement in drama), I wonder when feminism became such a controversial word. #feminism means equal rights, opportunities, and dignity for women, then why the hesitation to own the label? And if it's only about rejecting labels and avoid being categorized, then tomorrow will someone say, “Main aurat nahi hoon, insaan hoon”? The world seems increasingly uncomfortable with naming the very principles it claims to support.

If someone writes such story -Channels will not approve the script, producers will not invest, actors will not act and will talk trash about it later. And if all that is processed, the director will portray the character as you have mentioned: bold, holding cig & loud mouthed. Also Lets assume Script writers are backward, conservatives , dont know the difference but Canadian return theatre actor who is the main lead and responded “oh good good” , could have corrected them or explained the difference?! Customer Ambassadors in Queens were not helpful at all this morning. Saw a male ambassador shouting at and cursing a woman because she showed her monthly LIRR pass on the app and explained the cross-honoring situation. The staff at the gate refused to let her through, loudly insulted her for “wasting time” over the MTA fare, and even threatened to record her if she tried going under the turnstile. At one point, he even told her that if she couldn’t pay the MTA fare, she should leave the station, go home, and work from home. Then they did the same to another lady who ended up crying. Another older woman explained that she did not carry cash or a card because passengers were informed that MTA would honor LIRR monthly passes during the disruption. People already paying $173–$487 for monthly LIRR passes should not be humiliated just for trying to get to work.

It’s not “just $3.” With MetroCards gone, it’s now ~$3 per ride, meaning during LIRR disruptions, people can end up paying $6–$12 a day extra, plus more if another train or bus is needed… after already paying $173–$487 for monthly LIRR passes. Saw passengers this morning crying, arguing, and being insulted over fares they were told would be honored. New Yorkers did not sign up for this.

If you must travel today, travel alternatives include: • Limited shuttle bus service to/from six Long Island locations to Queens subway stations, for both the AM and PM rush hour. • NICE Bus service to/from Nassau County and Queens, including extra service on select routes between Hicksville, Mineola, Great Neck, and Freeport. • “Kiss-and-ride" at subway stations in Brooklyn and Queens that are close to roadways that lead to/from Long Island. I agree. And this is not the first time this has happened. Every time the LIRR app says service is unavailable and MTA will honor LIRR tickets, the MTA staff still refuse to honor them. At this point, MTA/LIRR owe me a significant amount in refunds. It honestly feels like double charging — paying for a monthly LIRR pass and then being forced to pay separately for MTA rides during disruptions.
