@Cyclingnewsfeed Sometimes you need the brains.
Jonas best way to win the race, is on the mountain stages and in the 3rd week. He knows what he’s doing.
The criticism they’re giving him today, suggests they know that.

@SkinAtheist Nothing, except when you try and ridicule Theists.
It’s the same idea as Feminists. Nothing wrong with being pro female, but when it becomes anti male, it’s a different thing.
If you’re pro atheism, cool. If you’re anti theism - not so cool. Don’t then pretend to be confused.

@autocorrect2_0 Inspiring helplessness, in order to create more sheep?

“Of those whom you gave me, I lost not one”
Sheep.
Why sheep?
Sheep are:
- defenseless
- prone to get lost
- if there is a hole in the fence they will find it.
- you can’t drive them like cattle, they have to be led. (If only some pastors would learn this lesson)
- called by name
- not very bright
Makes more sense now why they are a perfect metaphor for us.

@FillmoreLucky @autocorrect2_0 Actually, The Bible is a library of 66 books that were written by over 40 authors across a period of over 1500 years. Which all, amazingly, say ‘a thing’, or two.
English

Over and over the Bible tells us that creation itself is screaming the truth at us and that anyone who denies God is WILLFULLY ignorant and without excuse
Psalm 19:2,3
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
Psalm 19:1-4 ESV
“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
Romans 1:20 ESV

Remember when “born that way” was the defining justification for people saying that we should encourage people to commit homosexual acts?
The idea was that a person had an unchangeable quality/desire they were born with, and that it was therefore good for them to follow it.
Some responded by pointing out that many people are seemingly born with disordered desires and that it would be clearly wrong to follow them. I was selfish from as early as I can recall. And jealous. Theft and lying came so natural to me that I had to be taught not to. But this argument fell on deaf ears most of the time. For whatever reason, being gay was seen as a special kind of ingrained reality that is NOT ONLY present at birth but is ultimately how a person is SUPPOSED TO live.
Then they tried to prove it with genetics. Various studies came out trying to show that people were literally, genetically hardwired to be gay. Those studies didn’t work but they got all over the press anyways. Some pro-gay advocates never let it go. They still promote genetic gayness and twist the data all day long, looking for the smallest bit of genetic justification for a “born that way” morality.
Fast forward to today. We’ve added bisexual to the list. It just snuck in there without any justification related to how one is born. The bisexual can’t claim to be a victim of there desires and that they are morally right to follow the only path to love they have, which goes against heterosexual marriage. Then comes the “T”. Transgender people are literally fighting against how they were genetically born. It doesn’t matter to the LGBT agenda if a trans person “felt like the opposite sex” for their whole life or if it’s a 50 year old man who, going through midlife crisis, just feels like being a woman and is willing to change his life and family to that end. This isn’t even to mention the “Q” side of things.
How you’re born doesn’t matter to the LGBT agenda. Such is the case with many of the justifications they have used to move society to a place of “acceptance”. They (those who promote such agendas, not those tempted with sexual sin) never held their own rules to heart. They said “born that way” because it was effective marketing, not because it was something they felt they needed to be true in order to believe what they believed.
It’s all marketing. All of it. Every slogan. Every agenda talking point.
In the end, LGBTQ agenda pushers stand for one thing, and it isn’t human rights. They stand for rebellion against God’s design in man and woman.

@scbrown00 @McClureShawn Exactly. Most people who say they were Christians, were just - not. Being Christian isn’t, ‘I go to church’.

@TheHumanSpoon @autocorrect2_0 There’s a lot of evidence for God.

@autocorrect2_0 All we would need to rationally justify belief in deities is sufficient evidence to convince us deities exist.
It's a pretty modest request, really.
The same for any empirical claim.

@jesusiscoming30 @WakeUpSleepies @SpringSteps 2) asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
English

@jesusiscoming30 @WakeUpSleepies @SpringSteps 1) Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter.
English

@duncstorey @SpringSteps @jesusiscoming30 2 Thessalonians 2 tells us pretty clearly that His return is not truly imminent until the man of lawlessness is revealed
English

@SpringSteps @jesusiscoming30 Watch and be ready can mean imminency. However, are events required before Christ's return? Yes. A 3rd Temple is good example. We will 'see the day drawing near', through signs. There are a number of prophecies that must take place before His return, though.
English

It motivates me to spread the gospel. It's presented in scripture as a good motivator to produce good fruit. I think warning people about the coming of Christ and being ready is part of spreading the gospel.
Jesus taught us to watch and be ready. Matthew 25:1-13
I have a couple of questions.
If it's God's will to have the church go through the tribulation, why would we be instructed to watch and be ready for Jesus? It's clear that those who refuse the mark will be martyred during the Tribulation.
It's also clear that the world will be worse than it has ever been since the world began. I doubt people will be going on, living life as if nothing is wrong.
Do you believe Christians can lose their salvation?
