What a terrible way to end the season for the Wolves. They had really earned a lot of plaudits for their toughness and togetherness in the first round and early in the second. Yes, they were shorthanded, but to lose like that was unbecoming of the team they proclaimed to be

@JaceFrederick Not sure how many times you can hear this and not go fucking insane. I’m not anti Finch at all, but when multiple players say this constantly then what’s the answer to fixing the problem

Ant on why the Wolves can't play like 5 on a string: “We’ve just got to listen to the coaches. We had a hard time with like processing stuff and going out there and doing it, trying to do stuff on our own. I think that’s our problem.”

@alexhellie @adukeMN x.com/danemoorenba/s… always blame finch when players are genuinely admitting they don’t follow the FUCKING gameplan half the time and try to turn it to a pick up Rico Hines UCLA run x.com/mike_jagacki/s… we run a set/action every single time down the court almost lmao

Last night might have been one of the best chess matches of the playoffs. A thread of the Spurs game plan, Minnesota's counters, and the adjustments to the counters...

Chris Finch on what has happened to cause the Wolves at times to have poor spacing “I think too much iso and guys start drifting around, not realizing where they are on the floor so I think it’s just recognizing where you are and then sometimes it’s just sloppy execution”

Joan Beringer should play meaningful minutes against these Spurs. I’m so confused why he isn’t playing?! Rudy shouldn’t be playing 30-35 minutes at this point in his career. Rudy is already handicapping the team with his offense, and now his defense is not affecting anyone on the Spurs. He doesn’t even go for blocks half the time, just puts a hand up. At this point we need to try; it can’t be as bad as what we’re seeing now with Rudy.

At some point, Chris Finch is going to need to coach with intent. This offense is horrible, and the defense is even worse. Try a zone or anything other than what we are doing. Mike Conely is not the answer. I want to see Joan Beringer play 5 to 10 min instead of Rudy Gobert.

@PDWolves I mean we are now and always have been the underdog so… what do you actually mean he should change? Lineups? Starting lineups? Learn how to make adjustment mid game and not look like a 80 year old Alzheimer’s patient drooling through his mouth half the game?

He's not going to do it, but it would be cool to see Finch coach the rest of this series like he's an underdog. They have no shot, absent fluky stuff involving Wemby availability.

I don’t think the Spurs defense is good enough to explain the gap between Jaden McDaniels’ energy last series compared to this one.

Changing the starting lineup (and/or benching someone) risks losing that player… mentally. Not changing the starting lineup (and/or benching someone) risks losing the series… literally. We’ll see what happens on Friday.

@tannerscranium Kat mostly played like shit during the playoffs for us. And he would absolutely not be with his contract on our team. It’d be entirely infeasible to have him at this point.

The Towns trade really looms large in this series, Randle is a mess and Towns would have loved this matchup

@_MNMuse Literally the only difference in 90% of these is he’s not seeing a playoff defense scheme revolving around sending doubles at him. Sorry lil bro but Ants not going to get to go iso with Fox all night with a Western Conference Finals appearance on the line 😅

Tonight was going to be a loss under anything other than miraculous circumstances. Losing to a 60 win team is nothing to be ashamed about. But: they aren’t good enough. “running it back” was ALWAYS ending this way, they cannot do it again, and it’s really that simple,

@allthingsmn Lol they can count on half empty arenas next season then if they run it back. Especially since this team does not care about reg season. You can’t jack up ticket prices and then sell fans on “Julius Randle”

Connelly is patient. I don’t think there’s any chance Finch is out. But I think he’ll have a price on Randle and Gobert and if it’s met he’ll move them. He stuck to his guns on the KAT trade and it came together in October. He held DLo until the last min. I think if teams are showing no interest in Randle this summer, we may need to brace ourselves to have him on the team until the deadline.
Aaron (Wolves Back)@Perrywinkle1267

I think all of Randle, Gobert and Finch should be discussed at minimum. Im still sorta convinced Finch ball could return the second Rudy and Randle are gone.

Good back and forth between Naz Reid and @ChristopherHine about playing with feel being important but also often leading to gameplan mistakes. "Trying to figure out a fine line between kind of having feel and doing what (the coaches) ask... In those moments... sometimes you might have a feel to do X, Y, Z and it's like, 'ah, I thought, I thought' but that's kinda when you get burnt on the gameplan mistakes."

@WillRagatz Randle is Ass but Jaden has just been way too hesitant. He needs to get aggressive on offense instead of hacking on defense.

Milwaukee. Giannis isn’t the same asset anymore. He’s older. Injury prone. Hasn’t made it past the first round in years. Can’t shoot. The best you can do at this point is a trade for Julius Randle. Randle has made it past the first round multiple years in a row. He can bring the winning culture back to Milwaukee
