@jimpo_potamus @radi_cojbasic It takes balls to try hard things, and perhaps even more balls to know when it’s time to fold. Excited to see where you guys go next!

Irreducible's time has come to an end. Long story short, @radi_cojbasic and I ultimately came to the realization that we couldn't sustainably build the kind of deep tech business in ZK that motivated us.

Bella Donita holding an Israeli official to account in January on Sky News, it was her last ever appearance. Like Sangita Myska she was cancelled. RT the hell out of this, we can't let the Media get away with this.

In 1977, media prophet Marshall McLuhan discussed CIA and FBI surveillance, and then turned it into one of the most mind-bending riffs on identity in the digital age I've ever heard.

@carydunn I think there’s a race for time here too: atm there’s a lot of actual human generated content online to train off of, but soon enough we’ll be flooded by ai generated texts, images and sound. So the next gen ai will train on ever more diluted data.

It becomes a race to aggregate the most data (the more proprietary and harder to obtain the better)...and the most energy and compute resources to spend on training

One of the most concerning aspects of the current AI excitement is the potential acceleration and weaponization of data collection for the purpose of training models...*cough tiktokgooglefacebook*

When I first confronted one of the missile programmers months ago, I asked him how he sleeps at night after what he does. He snapped back: "Be professional. Ask a professional question". I asked him why they kill so many civilians. He wrote "You know well I can't answer this".

Ever wonder how Russian cruise missiles find their way into Ukrainian playgrounds, power stations, and apartment buildings? Well thanks to @bellingcat’s @christogrozev wonder no more. It’s time to meet the team behind the targeting of Russian missiles on civilian infrastructure.

@caulagi Likely nothing, at least for as long as things are good. I guess if you work with people you actually like it’s not really a chore. Avoiding chores is critical I think. :)

A routine I really dislike as an engineer is the 1-to-1 with a manager/coach. Why do we have those? What do you talk about in them? Give me an example when its been useful.

Part of the reasons why I wrote a kernel is to confirm by experience (as I couldn't be sure before) that "panic and stop" is a completely valid way to handle Rust panics even in the kernel, and "warn and continue" is extremely harmful.
