Big day for Ollama! When we started, open models and the open source AI ecosystem were in their early days with few believers. Our belief in open source has never wavered. With today's fundraising announcement and our 9M+ active builders, we’re ready to scale open models into AI that you can own. All aboard open models! 🧵

If this is true, enterprises are going to look at that Anthropic bill and start getting their open source models ready. Frontier intelligence too expensive to meter is the best thing that ever happened to open-weight models. The constellation of models isn't optional anymore. It's economic survival More models, more scaffolding needed, more startups needed to deliver around it

Satya said it well: “There is no societal permission for an AI future that eats the intelligence of the companies it’s deployed inside.” Which FDE would you rather have? Forward Deployed Engineering or Forward Deployed Extraction …of your data, workflows, and institutional knowledge. 👏🏻 @Microsoft

AWS says Mechanical Turk will no longer accept new customers and that it is placing the crowdsourcing service in maintenance, signaling its future retirement (@ssharwood / The Register) (Visit Techmeme dot com for the link and full context!)

For years, @avarma has been one of the most important people in Toronto tech without many outside the ecosystem fully understanding why. He helped build Xtreme Labs. Autonomic sold to Ford. Xtreme’s story even brushes up against Tinder. He has been described as “sort of the king of Toronto.” Others put it more bluntly: “What people don’t realize is that he was carrying Toronto and KW tech on his back.” Now, with Mantle, he is building again. My profile:

Lovable has a mass data breach affecting every project created before november 2025. I made a lovable account today and was able to access another users source code, database credentials, AI chat histories, and customer data are all readable by any free account. nvidia, microsoft, uber, and spotify employees all have accounts. the bug was reported 48 days ago. its not fixed. They marked it as duplicate and left it open.

btw if you can build a category leader open source project in ai engineering right now the market acquihire rate is ~$10-$100m per ai engineer. you do not need to figure out a business model, you do not need GTM, you do not need funding. just build things clankers want.

The synagogue I attended as a boy and youth, where I was bar mitzvah'd and received my primary Jewish education, now under gunfire in once-peaceable North York, Ontario.

Running OpenClaw locally? Do it safely. This walkthrough shows how to run it inside Docker Sandboxes with Docker Model Runner: - Isolated microVM - No exposed API keys - Controlled network access - Fully private, local AI setup Secure agent workflows in ~2 commands. Read → bit.ly/4sgSKAy
