I'm not a fan of gerrymandering. But I'm still waiting for a convincing explanation for why it’s a “threat to democracy” when Democrats do it and mysteriously fine when Republicans do. The extremely blatant double standard is a bit much.

You can’t blame the second party to move on this bc it would be irresponsible to let the other get away with it. Just like Dems shouldn’t have let republicans get away with not allowing dem president to appoint SCOTUS nominee toward end of term. Constitutionally aggressive tactics need to be matched otherwise no incentive to not do for an ethically challenged political party.
