@BambulabGlobal I followed the reprap project progress on the Reprap Forum and G+ in 2012-13. I wanted a printer but wanted it big for specific projects. So I taught myself solidworks to design and build one myself. I built it and brought it out to the second ever MRRF (2014) in Goshen Indiana.

@JoshMurrah I always loved the MilkCr8 by @JoeSpanierMakes for compactness. It was such a clean and simple design. Very approachable. Good desk sized unit.

Real talk - I haven’t gotten my Milo dirty yet. I don’t know if I will. I really enjoyed building it and its enclosure but it’s a BIG unit with its enclosure, needs lots of external electronics relocation once enclosed… which will lock it to its enclosure basically, and because of its size, all that will be outside in a shed instead of my hobby area so there’s a natural barrier to using it. Possibility I’ll sell it and put aside funds for the @Voron_Design Cascade this winter. I need something more compact that fits (enclosure included) happily on a desk.

@Barnacules Onshape for convenience, single part modeling, and multibody models (sketch environment is just better and faster). Fusion for multibody assemblies and CAM for CNC. Solidworks is what I am fastest at, but my last active license is for 2018 version.

Fusion 360 vs. onshape? Which do you use and why do you like it more? 🤔

One of the mounting holes a little off. So we made 1 more test piece for the alternator bracket out of @BillieRubenMake @GreenGate3D cherry pie 🍒 🥧 PETG . Everything seemed to be perfect so it was time to drop a bar of 6061 aluminum in to the @Tormach and mill the final part.

When you need to print something on your big printer because it doesn't fit on the Bambu P1S... And you remember just how much bigger it really is.

I got a jam/filament-miss-feed today in my P1S AMS. Turned out to be a wedged magnet in the AMS internal filament hub at the "filament presence" hall effect sensor. The AMS is great... but at times I really wish they made is bottom accessible with an access panel for repair.

@lost_in_tech From reading up a bit it’s been available as a community mod for a few months - so it’s semi-vetted already. I’d love to see some before/after purge waste amounts.

Should I test it? 😁 seems like something pretty objectively easy to try out.

Really interested in seeing how this pans out, less purge is ALWAYS good BUT... now we have a tip-tuning step (increased time?) AND also a floaty nubbin of filament that got chopped off and is now floating in the heatbreak (increase risk of jams?) Thoughts?
