@MassAesthetic @wirecrab99 @bp061122 @5Solas2 That is a perfect example. Most bishops at the time taught Arianism. However, the Church won't fall even if it contains laity or clergy in error (wolves in sheep's clothing to paraphrase Christ). The post-protestant mind thinks the answer is to ever divide the church -> sola me

@ecofire2 @wirecrab99 @bp061122 @5Solas2 Exactly, so think about the laity falling in the Arianism heresy because of their bishop. Is God going to judge that single person accountable for being taught wrong? Obviously, not. If you leave the church and fall into heresy are you going to be judged? More than likely, yes.

@wirecrab99 @bp061122 @MassAesthetic @5Solas2 You reject the new testament as the inspired Word of God... Edgy "jesus not religion" gnostics like you, I understand are overrepresented on the internet. I'll pray for you.

@ecofire2 @bp061122 @MassAesthetic @5Solas2 All that based on your personal interpretation of how his “body on earth” is setup? All you’re doing is going in circles, based on your own interpretation, that only the RCC can interpret

@wirecrab99 @bp061122 @MassAesthetic @5Solas2 False premise. I don't believe Christ is in error or what he said about his Church is untrue. So if his body on earth says scripture is infallible, I submit to that. And that scripture says, hold fast to holy Tradition, I do. So I don't reject scripture and tradition like you

@wirecrab99 @bp061122 @MassAesthetic @5Solas2 Better that I submit to a magisterium given the authority by God than to risk heresy by being my own authority and making errors like selectively ignoring Sacred Scripture. As you just illustrated.

@jontheharris @LizzieMarbach @MargoCatholic Wow. You're not a normal Protestant. I've never heard a Protestant say they know who is Hell. Scripture doesn't give a definitive list though some are strongly suggested such as Judas. What "Christian" sect do you belong to???

Why do Protestants tend to say “apostle Paul” instead of Saint Paul? And yet our cities aren’t named “Apostle Paul, MN” it’s “Saint Paul, MN”.

@abefrohman84 @ReaderJustus @catholicpat It's pharisaical to say those given the authority by God to forgive sins are not allowed to. Because that's literally what the Pharisees said to Christ.

@wirecrab99 @bp061122 @MassAesthetic @5Solas2 What's wild is that a solo scriptura person would see that scripture confirms both accounts of writings and tradition are both confirmatory sources. Instead you think an argument from one nullifies an argument from the other.

@MizThatch @MargoCatholic Because it is clear St Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles is clearly in the beatific vision. So we know the Paul the Apostle is a Saint. Easy question.

@MargoCatholic I guess I wonder why Catholics use the term “Saint” when scripture refers to him as an apostle…

@Finnegan1435321 @MargoCatholic You really believe deep down you are sufficiently sancti (saint in English also translated as holy)? That you have no need on Earth to work out your sanctification?

@MargoCatholic Because he was an Apostle. That was his title and office here on earth. We believe all Christians are saints, here on earth and in heaven. We don’t view it as a special title.

Wait… Do Roman Catholics actually think the angel in Luke was—checks notes—praying to Mary and worshiping her? 🫨 (He also never said this in the passage? Like… huh?)

@ProudAtlantean @KingChud420 @redeemed_zoomer @Pontifex And Holy Father was clear in that address, "I encourage you to continue your work in Algeria as a cohesive and open community of faith, as a living presence of the Church, the “universal sacrament of salvation”"

Communion between Christians and Muslims takes shape under the mantle of Our Lady of Africa. Here, in #Algeria, the maternal love of Lalla Meryem gathers everyone as children, within our rich diversity, in our shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace. In a world where division and wars sow pain and death, living in unity and peace is a compelling sign. #ApostolicJourney

@MattisRedacted @CapturingChrist Bruh, did you learn nothing from Christ, St. Stephen and the countless martyrs? Or do you cling to the morals of pagans like Hammurabi?

You clearly didn't read the address this quote comes from. Pope Leo literally opens by honoring 19 religious martyred by Islamist violence in Algeria. The entire speech is built around that. Also, the Reconquista point is fascinating (ie: highly ironic) coming from a Presbyterian. You're claiming a campaign waged by militantly Catholic monarchs, enforced by the Spanish Inquisition, and carried out under papal authority as your own heritage. The same Spain that carried out the Reconquista would have considered your theology heretical. I mean, think about that. The deeper issue, however, is that the Reconquista and missionary presence in Algeria answer completely different questions. One is just war to reclaim sovereign territory. The other is how Christians live faithfully as a minority. Again, just read the address, my guy. Link: vatican.va/content/leo-xi…
Redeemed Zoomer@redeemed_zoomer

@Pontifex Are you serious? Catholics are being martyred every day due to Islam. Spain did not spend 500 years reclaiming Christendom from the Islamic empires just for you to say stuff like this.

Catholics need to learn the word Protestant doesn’t mean non denominational or non Catholics. Protestantism is a sect or type of Christianity that that consists of 7 denominations. Baptist,Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregationalist, Dutch Reform and Lutheran

@Orthofox312 @reformzoomer Non-denom means their church does not exist within a broader church. So by definition not baptist. Their heresy combines heresies of Baptists, Pentecostal and Methodism. They vary between sola/solo/prima scriptura.

@reformzoomer Aren't non dom basically Baptists? For most people the word baptist means groups that accept sola scriptura and sola fide. We already refer to the 7 sisters as reformed over restorationist and non dom

@GlennDShepard @LukeDashjr @reformzoomer You can't be in heresy if you don't have doctrine. Please cite the dogma or teaching from your magisterium that you claim Catholics violate. And don't say "according to sola me" because YOU don't have authority to define doctrine or orthodoxy.

Catholicism has heresy for example changing the Ten Commandments to exclude the one that says do not have an Idol. Or the pope which the Eastern Orthodox also rejects along with Protestants. It’s time to come to terms all of God’s children those who confess Jesus as Lord and have been endowed with power have been dividing over non-issues. If we have faith in the Lord and aim to obey his commands then we should not be fighting .
