During one of the worst losing streaks of my career, our team president walked into my office. Keli McGregor. One of the best men I've ever known. He could have come to vent. To question my decisions. To ask hard questions. Instead, he said: "Cut to the chase, Clint. What's next?" I looked him in the eye and gave him two words: "Shower well." The Colorado Rockies were struggling badly that year. Pregame preparation was solid. Scout meetings, early work, attention to detail. All of it was there. But at game time, the tires were flat. I told Keli: the game did everything it could to us today. We just couldn't meet its demands. Now it was time to reset. "Shower well" means exactly this: • Watch the frustration circle down the drain • Shampoo, rinse, repeat and get the grime of today completely off your mind • Walk out clean, go home, and actually rest Leave it at the ballpark. The game is over. There's nothing left to solve tonight. Keli nodded. Asked if he could share it with the whole organization. I said sure. And then it hit me. This isn't just for baseball. Bad day at the office. Grumpy boss. Missed deadline. Traffic on the way home. You can carry all of that through your front door. Or you can shower well. I've never seen a single problem get better because someone dragged it home with them. The reset is a discipline. Same as preparation. Same as showing up. Either we win. Or we learn. The only real loss? When you don't take a single thing out of a hard day. So tonight, whatever kind of day it was, shower well. Tomorrow is a new at-bat. What does your reset look like? I'd love to hear it.

When did youth baseball get so serious? Exit velo. Radar guns. Rankings. Travel teams at 8 years old. What happened to just playing because it’s the greatest game ever invented? Sometimes it feels like we all forget it’s still a kid’s game. ⚾️

Interim MLBPA Exec Dir Bruce Meyer, after meeting with players this morning, on a salary cap: "Salary caps certainly don’t guarantee competitive balance. (You're) very much better off being a Cleveland Guardians fan over the last any number of yrs than a Cleveland Browns fan."

#Bengals HC Zac Taylor on the refs stopping play after Myles Garrett broke the NFL sack record: “There’s five minutes left in our season. We’re playing for our lives here, and I was never told that we’re gonna stop the game — and in a critical moment like that. And the refs just said that they made a decision that they were gonna stop the game… We’re trying to be on the ball and go and play with tempo, and the umpire just held the ball so that we couldn’t do anything.”

@NFL_DovKleiman By this logic, any NFL record broken in the existence of the league that occurred anytime after they expanded the number of games in the regular season is null and void. Also any playoff numbers.

No Way: The legendary Michael Strahan says Myles Garrett breaking his sack record is a FRAUD because of the 17-game season. "I mean I hold the record for 16-game season, they hold the record for 17-game season." 😭😭😭

With today's #Browns victory, they go from the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft to now No. 6. Costly win?

Sure seemed like the @steelers were happy to lose the game if it meant keeping @Flash_Garrett from setting the NFL single season sack record. SMH 😒

The First Amendment literally says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.” Not “only one flavor of Christianity.” Imagine being this confident while being this wrong about the most litigated amendment in U.S. history.
James Baird@james_d_baird

it’s hard to believe how many people think the First Amendment means government can’t promote true religion all it did was forbid Congress from establishing a sect of Christianity as the only allowable religion America was founded as a union of Christian states

@acnewsitics Yeah, not only is it in the first amendment. It’s literally the first freaking thing. Ahead of all the other freedoms. That’s how important it was to them.

@jack_windon @OHADNewsHS @blackswampfb That would be true. I think the Fri/Sat issue is a big one rather than money. It is almost impossible to host if your team is playing. Again, I do like Friday only though. Another is, people don’t realize the amount of time and effort needed by AD’s and sites to host.

PSA on playoff sites selected! I'm one of the OHSAA's biggest critics at times but they can only choose sites that are WILLING to host these neutral site games. A lot goes into hosting and hosts sites make very little profit. Plus finding volunteers/workers is not an easy task. Keep in mind girls hoops starts next Friday as well, which also factors in to some sites being unwilling to host. Also, a site does not have to be equal distance for each team. You can't just find the middle point between two schools and a stadium magically appears. Sometimes one school must drive further than the other, which has no barring on the outcome of the game. Many factors go into sites selected.

@Huntington_Bank I need you to have better options to change my address in your financial advisor sector. I’ve been on the phone for an hour multiple times without anyone getting to my call. Needs to be doable online like reg accounts.

@ModestTeacher Never personally had a problem with this as a teacher, especially for unique circumstances or when parent schedules are more restrictive so you go when you can. What got me were the ones who did this and then missed 45 other days throughout the year. What’s more detrimental?

I understand the sentiment here, but I would say that in “2025” it’s actually easier for a family to take a vacation during school. Most of the kids work is probably accessible online and can be made up easier.
The Principal’s Office@educator4ever36

It’s 2025 and I actually have parents trying to defend pulling their child out of school for a vacation. I get a death. I get granny is turning 100 and lives out of state. But to get a cheaper vacation- nope. Can’t ever support that.
