$GE Aerospace had a very strong start to the year. Total orders jumped to $23B, which is a massive 87% increase from last year. This pushed their commercial services backlog to over $170B . Total revenue reached $12.4B, showing a solid 25% growth. Their adjusted revenue also grew by 29% to hit $11.6B . The GAAP profit dropped slightly by 2% to $2.2B but the adjusted operating profit climbed 18% to $2.5B . This higher profit pushed the adjusted earnings per share to $1.86, which is a 25% jump. They also generated $1.7B in free cash flow, an increase of 14%. They even bought back 7.2M shares for $2.2B . The Commercial Engines & Services segment was the biggest driver again. This group brought in $8.92B in revenue, marking a 34% increase. Profit for this segment grew 23%. The growth happened because airlines are flying more and ordering more spare parts. GE saw a 39% increase in services revenue and delivered 43% more engines. They signed huge deals, including an order for over 300 LEAP-1A engines from American Airlines. United Airlines ordered 300 GEnx engines, and Delta Airlines ordered 60 GEnx engines. Ryanair also signed a long-term agreement to service about 2,000 engines. The Defense & Propulsion Technologies segment also performed very well. Revenue for this division grew 19% to $3.21B . Profit went up by 17% to reach $379M . The defense team secured a contract to provide T408 engines to the U.S. Marine Corps. They also partnered with Kratos to design a new engine for the U.S. Air Force. GE is staying cautious but confident on 2026 outlook. They decided to keep their full-year 2026 guidance the same, but they noted they are trending toward the higher end of their goals. They expect adjusted earnings per share to fall between $7.10 and $7.40. They also expect free cash flow to be between $8.0B and $8.4B . Management is watching the global economy closely. They expect oil prices to stay high through the third quarter. They anticipate flight departures to stay flat or grow just slightly, and they are not assuming a global recession will occur. To keep up with high demand, GE is investing another $1B into its U.S. manufacturing sites this year.
