Most people held in ICE detention centers have no criminal record. Detainees are deprived of life and liberty and placed in unsafe and inhumane conditions. DHS's plan to use warehouses to hold humans is unconscionable. These facilities have no place in PA or anywhere else.

I just exercised my right as a Member of Congress to conduct an unannounced oversight visit of the ICE field facility in Baltimore. The staff I met with respected my right to visit, but what I saw was disgraceful. Kristi Noem has a budget of $75 billion she could use to ensure humane conditions, but we saw 60 men packed into a room shoulder-to-shoulder, 24-hours-a-day, with a single toilet in the room and no shower facilities. They sleep like sardines with aluminum foil blankets. Whether it’s for three days or seven days, nobody would want a member of their family warehoused there. The room set aside for dangerous criminals and violent offenders was empty. We’re demanding immediate answers and action.

Trump has completely ABANDONED his promise to put America First. How does spending years and potentially billions of taxpayer dollars in Venezuela help families pay their rent, their mortgages, their grocery bills, their electric bills, their health care bills?

@RepJeffries The credits expire because the Affordable Care Act was supposed to drive prices down and not be needed. That credits are still needed is feeding a failed program, not making health care actually affordable. Give me back my 2009 policy and I can afford health care again.

@SenWarren Tax credits don't decrease cost. It just changes who is paying. You friends at Big Insurance want the feds to subsidies so they can still keep the system is increasing cost upheld. The ACA had a lot of good. But cost control was not one of them.

In just a month, 10,000 people in MA dropped their health insurance. That's 2x more than last year. 10,000 mommas, grandpas, aunts, neighbors, and friends who looked at their bill and said "I can't do this." Because Republicans won’t lift a finger to lower health care costs.
