To state the obvious (but being forgotten by many), we didn’t need to go to war to open the Strait of Hormuz. It was already open. To claim this outcome as a war achievement is paradoxical.

@McFaul You seem to miss the problem at hand: the regime is trying to signal that it alone controls the Strait and benefits from it. Now, the regime does not. Meanwhile, the market will make investments in alternate transportation.

This is an absolutely unhinged thing for a President to say. The “Glory be to GOD!” Statement especially so. The accumulation of threats, of war crimes, of whatever this is, puts the world at great risk.
