@JenniferOvat @griffgreen thank you for all your support, Jennifer ❤️

We're honored to be selected for the Ethereum Security Quadratic Funding Round, and grateful for every contribution to LIF so far.
Incredibly thankful to @griffgreen, who put it perfectly with the home insurance example: "Insurance is clearly a huge piece of securing our space."
Analogous to home insurance, insurance works best when there are smoke detectors, no faulty wiring, and no missing locks. That baseline is the proper posture that helps prevent catastrophe in the first place.
LIF does the same for DeFi protocols. Before we can price coverage, and before a protocol can credibly say "we're prepared," we need to define what "prepared" actually looks like: monitoring, circuit breakers, emergency authority boundaries, and recovery evidence.
That's what your donations fund. Right now, we're shipping Readiness v0.1 – a public checklist and scoring rubric that protocols can use to measure their incident response posture before an exploit happens. Higher funding unlocks deeper tooling on lif-research.org, L2‑specific guidance, and public assessment flow for governance councils.
705+ incidents in the dataset and growing. 80% of emergency interventions were improvised. Let's make the next one different.

Protocols need clear rules for what happens when things go wrong.
LIF by @Parametrig helps teams design credible emergency processes in advance, with defined authority, bounded actions, and recovery playbooks the community can trust.

Tbh, it is no fault of Nexus. Incredible team and pioneers in a largely unpredictable space. DeFi is drastically uninsured because it is simply too difficult to measure and price risks, highly adversarial, and opsec fails carry more weight in losses than code bugs.
2020-2025: only ~5.7 bps of losses were covered. That is $0.57 recovered per $1,000 lost. A 99.94% gap.
Coverage spikes after major hack years, then it lapses.
At @Parametrig, we know the bottleneck is on the supply-side: capital won’t underwrite at scale without measurable risk, faster claims and bounded, legible coverage in the loss stack.
We’ve built LIF - lif-research.org - as the framework for prevention-first security, bounded incident response, tooling, and soon to include insurance that evaluates the full architecture. We are building the underwriting and claims infrastructure that can scale capital beyond DeFi.
But first, we want teams to commit towards proactively improving their intervention responses and emergency governance to pave the path. You cannot price a system with clear emergency action plan in place, the same way you do one that has none.

Anyway, a fun reminder that Nexus doesn’t cover bridge related exploits

There are 134 projects GREAT projects in this QF round... which makes it REALLY hard to pick your faves.
So @giveth made a cheat sheet for your LLM!
It will update every 2 hours:

@nicnode @thedaofund @Giveth Hi! Please check out the Legitimate Intervention Framework (LIF) - we're promoting preventive measures against exploit so protocols can be insured. LIF is based on findings from 705 exploit cases and formalizes the taxonomy for interventions qf.giveth.io/project/lif:-l…

just donated to the @thedaofund Security QF round on @Giveth, but I have the feeling I'm missing some of the absolutely crucial to avoid some of the most salient security issues Ethereum is facing (e.g. the recent hacks)
can anyone give me a hand here? I'll do a second go soon

@elemoghenekaro Props for focusing on prevention. Dropping a small grant now

We’re still in the run for the Ethereum Security QF round on Giveth. We’re new and mostly behind the scenes research working to surprise proactive security measures in DeFi. If you’re considering supporting a project up and coming, please check out LIF

I have heard the feedback that picking & choosing which projects to support in TheDAO's Ethereum Security QF round is too damn hard. Every project is incredible!
Well now there is a simple solution!

OMG I just spent 6+ hours going through the projects in the QF round on this live stream and....
EVERY SINGLE PROJECT WAS INCREDIBLE.
h/t to @GivJake & @Cotabe_M for enforcing the eligibility criteria
to @WhyldW @karmaticacid & @yegorgolovnia for designing the application form
& to @ethereumfndn's YJ for working with us to design the elegibility criteria
The hard work really shows in the quality of these projects.
