Today, Russia sentenced Ukrainian teenagers to years of imprisonment. Viktor Azarovskyi — 8 years and 6 months. Oleh Shokol — 7 years and 6 months. Denys Vasylyk — 7 years. Children from an occupied territory were accused of “terrorism” and tried as citizens of the Russian Federation. On March 19, 2026, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don delivered its verdict against three teenagers from the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol. At the time of their detention in the fall of 2023, they were only 16–17 years old. For more than two years, they were unlawfully held in inhumane conditions, subjected to beatings, torture, and psychological pressure. hey were transferred between multiple detention facilities, including Detention Center No. 2 in Mariupol and Detention Center No. 2 in Taganrog, which is known for the severe abuse of Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war. According to Viktor Azarovskyi’s lawyer, his health significantly deteriorated in Taganrog: he was unable to sleep or eat, and his hands were covered in severe skin lesions. Despite the unlawful transfer of the teenagers from occupied territory and the questionable nature of the evidence, Russia brought serious charges against them. The trial was held behind closed doors, without access for independent observers or international organizations. This is not justice. This is the persecution of children and a war crime. Russia systematically uses unlawful detention, torture, and sham trials as tools of pressure against Ukrainian children, in violation of international humanitarian law. That is why the return of every Ukrainian child remains an unconditional priority for Ukraine. #BringKidsBack

Four years into the war in Ukraine, over 2.5 million children remain displaced — many forced to flee multiple times. @UNICEF is on the ground across Ukraine and neighboring countries, providing life-saving support to children affected by relentless violence.

Russia continues its nightly terror. Last night, nearly 300 drones — mostly Shaheds — and 50 missiles, including ballistic ones, targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, homes, and railways. In the Kyiv region, one person was killed and 15 injured, including four children. Ukraine urgently needs stronger air defense, especially against ballistic missiles. Sustained support saves lives.

India’s global weight is rising—boosted by the EU–India free trade deal. I spoke with @narendramodi about the changing world order & how new technology affects democracy. I welcomed India cutting Russian fossil fuel imports, increasing pressure to end aggression against Ukraine.

During my visit to Kyiv today I saw a civilian heating plant targeted by Russian missiles. No military value whatsoever - attacks meant only to make people suffer. But Ukraine stands strong. And NATO stands with you.

Another example of ignorance or arrogance, this time from @FT. “Former Soviet Republic”- what is the point to highlight this? 35 years (!) have passed since we restored our independence after soviet occupation. Does your office in Frankfurt report on former East Germany too?

❗️Join the international fundraising campaign to support Ukrainians through the coldest winter in years: shorturl.at/dpb0q In Kyiv, residents of more than 1,200 high-rise buildings do not have heating. Across the country, Ukrainians face prolonged outages (up to 16 hours without power); repair works continue but are hampered by new Russian strikes. #StandWithUkraine #WarmthForUkraine

Tomorrow in Miami, 🇺🇦🇺🇸 negotiation teams will have another round of discussions. The Ukrainian delegation includes NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov, Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov, and Davyd Arakhamia, MP, Chairman of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction. As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized, we are working on two key documents: agreements on security guarantees and Ukraine’s economic prosperity which may be signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The purpose of the visit is to refine these agreements with American partners.
