Just got a friendly visit from @northamptonpd - Apparently tossing your #iphone14 on to the bed before jumping in the shower is a sure fire way to test out the new car crash detection! Might want to make sure I’ve been in a car recently @apple

Being a part of this study was so wonderful to help my queer community, and I hope my colleagues in medicine take these results and quotes and recognize that this is a problem not just for our patients, but even for those of us who are physicians.

Out today in @JAMANetworkOpen , our study on the professional experiences of transgender and gender-expansive (TGE) physicians 🏳️‍⚧️ The paper is #openaccess - read the quotes-they are powerful (& devastating at times) Here's what we found... jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman… 🧵 /1

Moving from the world of being a (pseudo?) cishet white dude to recognize I’m trans and coming out as a trans woman has opened my eyes to so much of the discrimination I was so blinded to in the past, and I know I’m only barely scratching the surface of what so many experience

@SusanMari13 Saw your article on trying to correct your residents usage of your patient’s name and pronouns, and as a trans woman and EM resident I wanted to say thank you so much for speaking up about this! We appreciate you

Being trans is the best worst thing that’s ever happened to me Or the worst best thing? Idk. Being trans sucks, but being yourself is so absolutely amazing

@doctornontrad But also because you're male. Definitely became so much more obvious to me after I transitioned

Being a nontrad med student sometimes means patients (and other care team members) confuse you as the attending because you are, in fact, the oldest person on the team. By a few years.

First shift back tonight after three months off! So thankful for the amazing support from @BaystateEM for allowing me time off for recovering properly after bottom surgery. I can’t wait to see my colleagues and take care of patients again! #transdoc

Since I came out as trans, I look back at the games when I played female characters fondly. I just picked SWTOR back up after 8 years and sure enough, seems like I was living the life I couldn’t live in my own skin

@desireejweber @browofjustice idk how i feel about this. in some ways it’s validating to show i’m female, but it’s also a little silly to matter when you’re a doctor. a doctors a doctor

@OperationalEMS Ah. Also efast for trauma, pna, b-lines for pulmonary edema, flow for testicles or ovaries (though the latter is easier on intracavitary), MSK - can dx fractures, do nerve blocks for pain management… confirm ET tube placement…u/s guided IVs & central lines…running out of ideas

@paramedoc Absolutely. Just trying to put together a comprehensive list of those things, and other likely contenders such as musculoskeletal uses.

Emergency Ultrasound and #POCUS aficionados: I’m writing a business case to get a portable ultrasound (butterfly/Lumify) for a remote clinic and want to include all of the reasonable medical uses in the hands of a non-fellowship trained EM physician. Anyone have a good list?

@marcoarment im a couple weeks behind, but you were talking about KN95s on ATP #380. They are worn by medical workers in the US. Also all N95s are useless without a fit test

Husband starts working from home tomorrow. He stopped at the market on the way home today, so he could pick up a few things to have in the house. Reader, he came home with 7lbs of Cadbury Mini Eggs.
