The United States has a maternal mortality crisis that disproportionately impacts Black and older women. Over 80% of these deaths are preventable. Today, the Energy & Commerce Committee unanimously passed @RepUnderwood’s NIH IMPROVE Act to establish a research program at NIH focused on reducing maternal deaths and improving health outcomes for pregnant and postpartum women. This is an important first step. We can and must do more.

Thrilled to push through legislation in my @EnergyCommerce Committee to make daylight saving time permanent. It’s better for safety and will boost New Jersey’s tourism industry. Let’s stop changing the clocks twice a year ☀️
