The last time I talked about the freelancing culture here, I was dragged for days 😂
Since then I kept my views to myself.
The early WordPress tech bros got stuck in the freelancing loop and did not even realise it when things changed. Everything was fine as long as they got their 30k and 50k here and there for WordPress sites.
Initially you’ll make a lot of money as a freelancer, but the law of diminishing returns sets in quicker than if you had built a career.

There's a lot we need to teach young Nigerians building in early careers, but the entitlement and freelancing culture will never help it land. I hope you don't learn late, the job market is game, you must know you place and play to your strength.

It's only in Nigeria they will expect some with 1yrs experience to know Docker, Kubernetes, Messaging Queues, and advance DSA before they can employ you.

You’d be in the UK looking for a senior front end or backend dev but because you can’t pay the rates there, you look for cheaper options and you remember Nigerian devs are equally good.
Now you offer them 200-500k naira to do same work you offered their counterparts there $2k and they refused. But yeah, Nigerian devs get “long throat” for not accepting such piss poor offer.
Obviously because of how bad things are here, you’d always find people lining up for such offer. But you’re a fucking idiot.
