Zig's focus on compilation speed is paying off. Ghostty just finished upgrading to Zig 0.15, and here are some results. Build Script Compilation: 7s to 1s Full Uncached Build: 41s to 32s Libghostty Incremental Build: 3s to 950ms

The more I develop programming languages the more I realize that there is not that much difference between interpreted and compiled languages. Compilation is just a form of interpretation. Lisp was thinking in the right direction. But nobody so far managed to close the gap.

This has more layers than OSI. And people say that functional programming emerged due to the boredom of developers...
