.@RonDeSantis is running for President in 2028. He has been trying to appear more social and less socially autistic. I’m told he’s been engaged in media coaching and social coaching since losing to Trump. He also rescued a few dogs to appear more likable. He’s been taking on Islam at the end of his term instead of at the beginning, and he now engages with people on X instead of being his usual elitist self. He is running again. And sources tell me he’s announcing on June 11th in Miami Beach, Florida at the Filmore.

It appears recent research shows that grouping students by ability does NOT harm the progress of lower-performing students. Teachers, what’s been your experience? Do lower students benefit more from mixed-ability classes or grouped classes…or does it not make much difference?

She says AI assistants should be placed in every single classroom and will “empower everyone.” “This gives them 12 teaching assistants or more.”

@wcdispatch At a private school, you tend to have active parents, which leads to kids who care more and are more successful. Plus, in a private school, you can get rid of kids who disrupt the environment. Public schools don’t have those luxuries. These are HUGE factors for success!

I do not support increasing teacher pay. The reality is that public school teachers work 2/3rds of the year, receive better benefits than nearly everyone, and work less. It’s worth noting that private school teachers almost universally are paid less than public school teachers, yet have universally better results from students. It’s not about pay. It’s about culture. And the culture that public schools inculcate is not beneficial for society.

Lee County Schools Superintendent @Dhatherop continues to prioritize students and teachers even when making tough budget cuts. I fully support her decision to ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently. @SJCSD could benefit from this kind of leadership. Instead, it’s dealing with Superintendent Asplen, whose track record has raised serious concerns about effectiveness, and those concerns continue to show in his leadership today.

TODAY IN TALLAHASSEE: The FL legislature convened for a special session and this is what happened… Speaker @Daniel_PerezFL chose Big Tech over Florida’s children. And we watched it happen in real time. The Florida Senate passed the AI Bill of Rights this morning…37 to 1. Overwhelming. Bipartisan. A mandate. In the House, Speaker Perez gaveled in, gaveled out, and declared it dead. Not after debate. Not after a vote. Before a single House member could say a word. His excuse? “No bills were filed.” Exactly. Because he wouldn’t let the members file the legislation. The same member who filed it during the regular session wanted to file it again, but the speaker said no. The Speaker lied and blamed it on his colleagues for not filing legislation, but the truth is…this is a man who had no intention of letting this come to a vote…and he made damn sure of it. But that didn’t stop us… We held a press conference on the steps of the Capitol and then we went to the Speaker’s office… We took a wagon full of binders to his office. These binders were full of legal filings…real cases of Florida children who have died, been harmed, exploited, and lost…at the hands of Big Tech and AI. The woman at the front desk of Perez’s office was more worried about being filmed than about what was inside those binders. That tells you everything. Speaker Perez says AI regulation should be left to the federal government and therefore, he refuses to take action. Danny has aligned himself with Big Tech who don’t want any guardrails at all. So let’s be clear about what happened today: 37 Florida senators voted yes. We showed up with parents and families with documented proof of harm. But Speaker Perez didn’t care… He decided none of that mattered. This bill would have banned companion chatbots targeting minors, required AI to disclose it isn’t human and protected kids in classrooms. Who fights against that? Who blocks that from even reaching a floor vote? Someone ask Speaker Perez who he’s really working for….because it isn’t Florida’s families. Children are our most vulnerable and it is our duty to protect them. There is something really wrong with someone who won’t stand to protect children. And when it mattered, Danny Perez stood with big tech and left Florida families to figure it out on their own. The binders aren’t going away and neither are we. This will be your legacy, Danny and we will make sure everyone knows…promise.

@ScanticAntiques @theficouple Been here for 28 hurricane seasons…the most destruction tha we’ve had is a downed tree. When some areas have been affected in the last several years, it was our state’s money, under our incredible governor @GovRonDeSantis who got things rebuilt rather quickly.

@theficouple I mean, it does get hit by a hurricane that destroys everything every 5-10 years. The biggest concern I’d have, would be when the money runs out (US govt), who’s going to help them rebuild over and over again..

Just spent almost 4 weeks traveling the state of Florida. Conclusion: Nice place to stay and visit 4-10 weeks out of the year. …Not a place you want to live 12 months of the year.

This woman was getting ready to fly out when she was stopped by TSA, they detected metal around her head area. She’s laughing at this point because she knows she’s going to have to take her hat off. She doesn’t want to take off the hat because she didn’t do her hair today. Instead she wore a hat with a wig attached to it so it would be more comfortable for her. Do you feel that TSA took it too far by making her take her hair off, were they trying to embarrass her?

Before moving to Louisiana, I lived in Texas for a decade. This is a lie.

@Paul_Renner @realJennaEllis We have the trade schools. We need to refocus our high schools back to a two-track system. There are some grad requirements that are meaningless to someone who knows they are going to trade school. We need to bring back home economics, too!

Three things I will do on day one as governor to give younger Floridians a fair shot: 1. Stop all H1B workers in state contracts. Florida jobs for Floridians. 2. Promote state funding to build new trade schools across the state. We need to give graduates real paths to wealth creation. 3. Propose first time homebuyer tax incentives to clear a path to home ownership like earlier generations. The future of nation is built on allowing young people to live the dream they were promised. I will actually deliver solutions that help.
