inadvertent T3 OD in EtOHic was probably one of the worst deaths I ever witnessed in MICU. Agitated first nite due to w/drawal, then intubated, then over next 2 d progressive liver failure, bleeding out of all orifices. Withdrawal so bad that we literally emptied out the narc cab of all benzos (this was pre Pyxis).

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) overdose. I’ve talked about this before. If the OD is severe enough, your liver is irreversibly fucked and you have 2-3 days of being awake and alert and knowing you’re going to die a horrible, ugly death. Half of acetaminophen overdoses are accidental.
