FAA Administrator Bedford is right. ADS-B is a critical safety tool that should be used to improve airspace safety & efficiency, not revenue collection. My Pilot & Aircraft Privacy Act safeguards privacy & economic viability of the aviation community, ensuring the freedom to fly without improper surveillance. yahoo.com/news/articles/…

ADS-B is a critical safety technology mandated by the FAA & is more accurate than radar, but third-party companies use this data to assess landing fees. I'm working to prevent the misuse of ADS-B out data so that as many aircraft as possible are equipped with and use ADS-B out.

NTSB Chair @JenniferHomendy: "ADS-B is a safety tool, and it should be used for safety and not as a revenue generator." She hopes Congress will pass legislation like the @SenTedBuddNC's PAPA Act to ban ADS-B misuse for landing fees. 👏👏

We applaud this decision to reclaim constitutional authority over the bar-exam process. Law students will no longer be beholden to a private out-of-state organization as they start their careers, and the profession will be more accessible to all those who qualify in Texas.
Bloomberg Law@BLaw

The Texas Supreme Court has ended the state’s reliance on the American Bar Association to accredit its law schools, finalizing a rule that places the state high court in charge of that certification. news.bloomberglaw.com/litigation/tex…

Judge Ho worries about a pattern of self-identified originalist judges “favoring commercial controversies over cultural ones.” “I worry that judges are too often tempted to find ways to avoid the kinds of issues that most anger cultural elites—cases about abortion, transgender ideology, religious liberty, and illegal immigration.”
Eric W.@EWess92

"In recent months, we’ve heard a lot of judges complain that the judiciary doesn’t get enough respect. I have a different take. I wonder sometimes if the judiciary gets too much respect." Judge James Ho in @HarvardJLPP. Read it while it's 🔥🔥🔥

Our comment requests that EPA and the Army Corps be mindful of the limits on Congress’s power over navigable waters and appropriately tailor the final rule to cover only waters that are used as highways for interstate or foreign commerce.

We submitted a comment on the EPA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Proposed Rule titled Updated Definition of “Waters of the United States,” which includes measures that right-size federal jurisdiction over the nation’s waters under the Commerce Clause. 🧵

We’ve been fighting the Vineyard Wind project for four years on behalf of commercial fishing families who have been using the area to feed Americans for generations. Finally, the federal government has realized that the project was ill-founded from the beginning.
The Boston Globe@BostonGlobe

Vineyard Wind, an offshore wind development off Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket that has been decades in the making, was among five offshore wind projects that had its lease suspended by the Trump administration. trib.al/U0mETBA

Sens Budd & Tillis worked in good faith with the Biden White House to find compromise nominees to relieve the caseload pressure in NC's federal courts. Biden insisted on nominating leftist judges that didn't fit NC's values. The blue slip allowed Trump to confirm 4 new judges.

I worked on judicial nominations for @SenTedBuddNC. He's 100% right about this. If it weren't for the blue slip, Biden and the Democrat Senate would have confirmed leftist judges in red states like NC, TX, and FL. Eliminating the blue slip will hurt conservatives in the long run.
Senator Ted Budd@SenTedBuddNC

Without the blue slip process, we would have more Biden judges derailing President Trump’s agenda. Instead, we have four new conservative North Carolina judges who uphold the Constitution and work for the best interests of the American people.

NEW: We're re-litigating a federal law that criminalizes the carrying of a firearm onto postal service property. This case could have broader implications for any American who simply wants to secure their rights under the Constitution. Here's why 👇🧵

@emilyjashinsky @doll_elizabeth So how does one ban strip malls, dollar stores, and high density housing without big govt (zoning!) telling property owners what they can and cannot do on their land?

This is so weird. I'm not a Republican and have never, ever claimed to be. I'm a conservative. My politics are 1) Christian and 2) skeptical of concentrated power (because I'm Christian and believe in original sin). Hate big govt (zoning!) and hate big business (dollar store!) equally. And if you think Tucker was literally calling for arson and the end of youth karate, you're wildly missing the point.

Unfollow Emily Jashinsky. She says she’s “always been aligned” with Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly, that burning strip malls is what should happen in a “normal” society, and that karate studios, dollar stores, and dense housing are all bad. No one who holds these leftist, big government views should be welcome in the Republican Party or conservative movement. If you support Tucker Carlson even now, you should be excised from our movement as a cancer, because you are openly supporting actual evil.

Great work @AAGDhillon. You should add @LAPDHQ to this lawsuit. It took them 15 months to schedule my interview, and they told me it would take 9 more months after that for the background check to clear (despite holding a Top Secret security clearance).

@emilysbremer Agreed. My article (forthcoming) in the Georgetown Journal of Law & Public Policy argues that a punitive monetary penalty is sufficiently analogous to a common law claim, so the 7A & Article III apply. As to licensure, it depends on the process that is due for that license type.

In retrospect, I think Jarkesy should have been easier. Money everyone agrees is yours (private right) should be extractable as a penalty only with Article III process. Permission to do business (public right) should be determinable in first instance by Congress's agent.

Huge news - @flyLAXairport Board just delayed a vote on landing fees at #VanNuysAirport. Thank you to the board for listening to stakeholder feedback, and we look forward to continuing conversations about how to best meet the airport's financial needs without burdening users.

To maintain U.S. leadership in aerospace innovation, we must modernize air traffic control systems and remove regulatory barriers on new tech adoption. Today, I introduced the Supersonic Aviation Modernization Act to lift decades-old restrictions on civil supersonic flight.
