@MostlyMonkey The game would be more interesting if there was a reward for the people who pushed blue. But there isn’t, so pushing blue is all risk for no upside. And for the business we’re in…

There are arguments for blue - the best are rooted in a belief that we are close to / above 50/50 and an extreme sense of altruism. The worst are "we'll never get everybody to press red, so we must press blue". 49% of people dying is worse than 1 person dying.

@gerstenzang That this chart is meaningless because his company went public at a dumb 2021 price and when they told him what it was trading at on live tv he was so shocked it looked like he shit his pants

@ScrollnKey @pmarca Forgot the first tenet of good interview is defer to whatever the most powerful say and don't dare insult them w/ follow ups cuz they're smart and your dumb. Either Jensen had real answers he wouldn't say out loud or he revealed the truth that he doesn't take AI, or natsec srsly

@ScrollnKey @pmarca Chip controls are important national security policy, Jensen single handedly overturned. Pressed to walk through his case, and he threw a temper tantrum. I'm a winner, boo hoo, anthropic is cheating, no fair. Stop chinese hacking w/dialogue. That's what you tune in to hear???

@ScrollnKey @pmarca This is a ridiculous take, Jensen did all the talking, all the name calling, all the yelling, and all the contradicting. He should have just done a different pod if his strategy was to try to bullshit past crystal clear questions.

@pmarca U mean the part where becomes obvious that Dwarkesh already made up his mind and just wanted to hear himself speak? I mean, why even have a guest on the show? Just do a monologue if you have no interest in listening.

🚨 Q1 has just ended $OPEN guided for Q1 2026 revenue of $662 million, a 10% sequential decline from Q4 2025’s $736 million. But I believe they ended at $800 million. 21% above guidance. I believe they sold an average of 22 homes per day. Answer in 1 month.

@JrMintz1990 @robinhood For me I track the "buying power" at the stock level they list. When my buying power goes to zero at 40% maintenance the maintenance jumps to 80. If you sell stock or deposit cash such that the buying power at 40% is above zero the maintenance rate also drops back down.

Bro @Robinhood just raised my maintenance ratio on $OPEN from 40% to 80% in the blink of an eye. I just bought this morning at 9:30 and 2 hours later they doubled this??? Fishy…

@runfrombear @nejatian Fair questions, but I think the implication of his "long tail" comment is that simple cases get handled by automation, but some portion still need to be referred to more time consuming processes.

$OPEN Volumes growing fast is great! But would appreciate answers to these 2 questions from @nejatian 1. Were you guys not prepared for influx of demand? It should have been obvious it was coming due to your new ads and seasonality changes. 2. More improtantly, isn't your new AI processes supposed to handle major load? I thought only one human to verify is used in every deal?
Kaz Nejatian@nejatian

@McDankins @morganb We are massively slammed right now. Volumes are growing very fast. We will clear this as soon as possible. We are getting most homes still in 24-48 hours, but the tail is taking far too long. I agree.

(1/2) Have you noticed that Opendoor's acquisition volume for the past four weeks was 537 + 449 + 442 + 390 = 1818? That's 1818 homes acquired in 28 days, which translates to 1950 homes in 30 days. And February 16th was a holiday. $OPEN #Faster

Opendoor's Q4 2025 financial report shows that 33% of listed homes have been on the market for more than 120 days, compared to 14.8% on February 20th, and now... 11.48%. $OPEN #Faster

The number of people who are exactly sure how something would be done while being certain that it can’t be done always surprises me. Experts always expert. Nothing has changed since Hayek wrote Use of Knowledge.

@erikstraub @nejatian You don't understand the industry a 4.99 will be sold at a loss in the secondary market and if there's a first second or third payment default it gets put back to Open door you're looking at a 15 to 20% loss of principle on that loan. Kaz doesn't think this way, 0 experience

@Pikithome @nejatian Could imagine a 2 way paid referral system, but structurally feels like they are always going to end up competing so hard to see that as more than marginal. Better to have clarity on the value prop and core customer. I appreciate the conversation, we'll see where the chips fall.

Make it believable that open can have significant market share while generating profits from agents. Agents bring deals to open. Agents alone would be a couple hundred million in profits ti open but that’s the door to get deals and build tech that will make it 100 million Think Tesla cars but battery storage and autonomous etc being the real value

Shop Pay Installments went from not existing to being one of the largest installment products on the internet in one year. I remember very well all the people who were very confident that it could not be done or that we'd lose money doing it.
