Best thing I've seen all day

Tonight was one of the toughest nights I’ve faced as a parent. Owen has worked countless hours, never chasing glory, just grinding to get better and better until he earned that starting center spot as a sophomore. Late in the game, he took a crushing helmet-to-helmet hit. I watched him shake it off, fight through three more downs while snappinghe ball with that same arm, and then reality set in. The injury is tough physically and mentally(tonight for all of us for sure) His season may be cut short, and that’s heartbreaking. But here’s what I know, this young man’s story is far from over. His teammates pulled out an incredible overtime win tonight, and while he couldn’t celebrate on the field with them, he’s already talking about what comes next. Proud of his team and teammates lots class act young men. Proud and thankful for the friends tonight and for sure the coaching staff. Its been. Humbling to say the least. A friend reminded me of something powerful: “The comeback is always greater than the setback.” And I can’t wait to watch Owen write that comeback story.
